Standing beside him, he was just a few inches taller than me, and I'm 5'7.

Gene Chizik is not very tall.  I'd say he's 5'10 at the most.  Daren Bates, in cleats and with a helmet, is about the same height as Chizik.

You might need to refine your "kaos instincts"...in that photo, Coach Chizik is closer to the camera, by about a yard, and he still isn't taller than Bates.

Daren Bates will be getting work at the Sam position alongside Junior Eltoro Freeman.  Senior Craig Stevens will be moving from the Sam to the Will position.

Eerily similar to the Auburn Sports blog "skreets".....

Bates is expected to work at Sam linebacker along with junior Eltoro Freeman this spring. Senior Craig Stevens is moving from the Sam to the Will linebacker position.
