Interesting. Gran's never even been a coordinator so that would be a big step up for him.

He is just about the only guy that I could say it would be a good move for.  He needs to get as far away from Kiffin and company as he can IMO.

But he's a terrible coach.  He worked under Tuberville and nobody would ever hire him or even consider him for a job because Tuberville had shitty assistants....

I'm pretty sure that there weren't too many people here that said that about Gran. The other coaches? Sure. Gran? Nope.

Must I refer you to the thread where this, in fact, occurred?  You're right, though, only one or two took off on Gran.

Couple of snippets:

I was like, "okay, why didnt tenny snatch him up after the interview?". Looks like he's not a hotcommodity as much as someone who rode running back U as long as he could.  I'm just saying if he's so phuking great, why hasn't he been hired yet?

Quote
my new position is that if Gran were basically the God of rb coaches that a few think he is, it wouldn't have taken tenny so long to decide to hire him. Obviously, kiffin got several no's before deciding to go with gran.

Did anyone else see Tommy West's press conference after he was fired?  I saw it on coaches spotlight on ESPN.   Classic, worth a watch.  Skip to about the 40 second mark and start watching.

Would that be considered a double negative?

I saw that Tommy West exit interview.  Very rarely will you see this kind of thing being portrayed as anything other than being bitter and sour grapes.  But, Memphis has loooong been a blip on the radar screen and you wonder if he's speaking the gospel.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Maybe it's because I'm not cynical typically, but yeah, I thought it was about as heart-felt as it could be.  When he talked about the nine years of his life he gave, I believe he really does mean it when he says for the fans to demand more from the university moving forward.

They sure didn't stand in John Calipari's way over in the gym.

And here was my response to Coach Gran:

Quote
Maybe Coach Gran is waiting for an Offensive Coordinator job to open up?  He's coached his RBs in 4-5 different styles of offenses....I would've liked to seen Coach Gran as the OC over Fucksinger or Nallsminger.  I'm kinda surprised that he hasn't landed the job at Iowa State, but he probably realizes that ISU is a grave yard right now.  Like it was stated before, I would be highly surprised if he isn't coaching somewhere next year.  I just think that Coach Gran is wanting a coaching job at a program that's similar to the Tennessee job, meaning the type of prestige that Tenn. is.  Where ever he lands, I'll be pulling for him.

Well, it's looking like it's going to be LSU RB Coach Larry Porter.
