I heard excerpts of The ONEs speech at Camp Lejeune this past week where he was basically making good on his campaign promise to the radical left to announce and implement a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq. The only remarkable observation I made from that speech was that in 3,000 words he never used the term 'victory' in regards to the War in Iraq. It was asking too much, I think, to expect him to say that due to his political penchant and his opposition to the War in Iraq.
But, what I found disturbing this morning was that Admiral Mullen (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) made all kinds of verbal gymnastics NOT to use the word 'victory' either when Chris Wallace specifically asked him why The ONE would not say this about Iraq even in front of the men and women who served there.
Just an observation.
