I went to cast my vote this morning and seeing what I estimated to be a two hour line I walked the length of it to determine exactly how long the wait would be which I did.
In doing so I noticed not thirty feet from the front door of the polling place a car was parked with New Jersey tags and a large "OBAMA 08" bumper sticker displayed in obvious clear view of the door that the voter line snaked into in order to cast votes. I do not know about other states but in Georgia no one is allowed to campaign in any way, shape, or form within 150 feet of a polling place and signs are posted advising as such. This vehicle was clearly parked in obvious opposition to that law.
My "Republican Mafia" instincts kicked in and I brought the violation to the attention of the poll workers who really didn't know if it was a violation or not. After telling them that I thought it was and helpfully offering to call the Secretary of State's office for them a couple of them called over the lawyer who was observing the voting process there. He was surprised there was a complaint (it was probably his car) but he explained to them that it was a violation and asked them to have the bumper sticker covered or have the car removed...he even provided a roll of duct tape to cover the sticker (which one of the poll workers did).
I was satisfied.
After waiting in line for nearly two hours I did see that vehicle was gone later...good!
