We still care for each other

Again, I didn't watch much of the game.  My sentiments are based on what I heard and felt from others who did.

Living with Gus is a little like being trapped in an abusive, empty marriage.

In the initial euphoria of the wedding and the brief honeymoon phase, things were great. There were little things you should have noticed, but they were so easy to overlook because you were just so happy.

And then it went bad.  He screwed up. Promised to do better, to be better.  Did the same things again.  And said he'd do better.  But he never does.

You're afraid if you ditch him, you'll be damaged goods.  Nobody will want you.  You're not sure how you'll make it financially.  So you stay, telling yourself it could be worse.

You're wrong.  The marriage doesn't work. You might be worse off if you get divorced. You might struggle. But if you stay, you know exactly what you're going to get.  And it sucks.

Get divorced. Maybe you can still be friends.

That's a great analogy.  The most spot on point though, is if you stay you know exactly what you'll be getting.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Sadly what I'm seeing and hearing from far too many of our fans today is:

"We just need to accept that this is who we are and quit trying to be Bama.  8-4 is a good record! Most teams would love to be 8-4.  We should just learn to live with that.  Focus on getting our other sports to be better than they are.  It's about the total athletic department, not just football!  C'mon people.  Are you Auburn fans or not?"
