Over at
Corndog Central they are rehashing the "bad" officiating during the past two AU/LSU games played in Auburn.
Let's revisit:
2004 - Nick Saban, as head of the rules committee, approved the prohibition on landing on the center during an attempt to block a FG. The rule was enforced and the XP was re-attempted. For the sake of argument, let's note that had the game gone to OT on the blocked XP, LSU was not guaranteed a win. They had not crossed the 50 yard line the entire 2nd half of that game.
2006 - Tipped ball, DB initiates contact with WR. By rule, after the ball was tipped, the DB is allowed to "interfere" with the WR.
Sour grapes over there. They're as bad as Bama fans: they never lose, the refs beat them or the opposition cheated.
