I'm constantly amazed at the repetitive nature of history.
Helping my daughter on a project related to the post-civil era. So many of the issues then are the same issues now. And so are the politicsl responses.
Look at Cleveland, Harrison; Cleveland and McKinley in particular.
The arguments over government regulation vs capitalism, trade and tariffs, labor v business. The rise and fall of the Populist movement (aka Tea Party?). The natural economic flow of ups and downs with each parity taking credit or getting blame.
It's all so familiar.
Do we truly never learn?
