More puzzling, however, is the apparent abandonment of previous attempts to provide sought-after recruits with some semblance of normalcy. In a December news release, the NCAA said the Working Group relied on input from two student-athletes: a Duke women's lacrosse player and a former University of Maryland Baltimore County baseball player.
Seriously? The NCAA relied on a women's lacrosse player and a baseball player to give them their input of how recruiting affects them? Really? How about use the input from players that actually get recruited since their Sophomore seasons or before (Basketball and Football players).
Also, anyone else remember a coach talking about how Coach sabbin never allowed his coaches to have a normal life with their families and how he always wanted them to be in the Ath Dept before the sun came up and to stay long into the night?
Well, guess which coach is happy now that his buddy passed the â€free for all†in recruiting...basically taking all of the stuff that uat was probably found guilty of doing previously and instead of nailing them, coach sabbin has his buddy Emmert legalize all of it. The next legalization will be for schools to be able to provide vehicles for all student-athletes as long as they don't already have a new vehicle and for boosters of the schools to cut the players into their profits for their autograph sessions (the cuts will depend sole on the booster's decision 70/30, 50/50, 100% whatever).
