Eviscerated on GameDay
« on: September 22, 2012, 10:31:05 AM »
The Auburn segment on GameDay this morning was horrifying.

They played clips of Finebaum's bama callers trashing Chizik, calling him a clown and so on and then portrayed the calls as Auburn's lunatic fringe.

Then Herbie lectured us all about patience and how we hadn't won a national championship in 50 years before Chizik, blah, blah, blah.  Then Dumsman Howard chimed in with shit about gratitude.

Howard did backpedal and say that players as good as Cam and Nick can mask flaws (heard that recently).  Corso noted that Auburn gives up 26 points per game since Chizik arrived and said whatever he's doing isn't working and he better do something different... fast.

Herbie countered with the "Frazier recruited for the spread and trying to be a pro style QB, blah, blah, blah"

Corso says Auburn isn't recruiting the right players.

It was 10 minutes that seemed like two hours of point and laugh.

Great.  More influence by Paul Finebaum.  I'm sure he's just giddy with glee over the impact he's having on sports.

And Herbie needs to eat three dicks, and I generally like the guy.   That motherfucker was one of the assholes that spat bullshit in 2004 about USC and Oklahoma and influenced voters to keep us out of the BCSCG.

Screwed in the early 80s, undefeated in 1993, undefeated in 2004, and a BCSCG trophy in 2010.  Chizik's head coaching was only part of one of those.  Contributed as a defensive coordinator under Tuberville, but Tuberville's defenses all played about the same way no matter the coordinator.

So quit feeding me that bullshit about how we should be grateful to Chizik for saving our program and bringing it to unknown heights.  The only thing he was able to accomplish that others couldn't was stay above the media influence of voters and Lord knows the media had an extra sharp sword to cut us down in 2010.

Fuck em all.  Damn I'm angry for a Saturday morning.  Fuck.

Missed that segment.

Did see where for their Saturday Picks segment, instead of picking a winner, they giggled as they picked how many times Auburn would make it within LSU's 30.

They debated between 3 and 2.

I wish I could be mad.

Yeah we should be grateful for chizik and give him more time.  One of the best games of the year now just a cupcake gigglefest for the rest of college football.

I'm grateful to Chiz for 2010.  They got Cam, and got Fairley to play at the level he did.  They made the most of the talent left behind.  Seen some coaches fuck up royally with talented teams.  But it's all fucked up NOW.  And now matters.  2004 was great.  Not Tub's fault he didn't get the Crystal ball, or a chance to play for it.  I'm grateful to him for it, and in fact the whole 2000-2007 run, but in 2008, it was time to go.   93, and 94 were really fun times to be an Auburn fan.  Grateful to Bowden, but it was time to go in 98.  Grateful to Dy for his run, but it was time to go in 92.

Chiz needs to find a way to put a decent defense on the field.  He needs to find a way to best utilize the talent we have on the offensive side of the ball.  And he needs to do it fast.

Don't you realize that Chizik brought us your ONE national championship since 1957?  Listen to Finebaum in the afternoons.  Listen to the Auburn callers and realize how much of a lunatic fringe your fanbase is.  Try to be grateful for your coach.  You know, the one that knows how to take you out of your normal mediocrity.  You might want to be a bit more patient with him and see what he can do because knowing your history, you won't ever be able to match the type of program Chizik has built on the plains.

How is this not obvious to real college football fans?

Somtimes the truth is painful. For the last 3 1/2 years we have had the worst defense that I can remember. And with every ass whoppin we take it just shows how much it was cam (and the rest of the senior class) and less coaching staff. ( minus GGM)
