The Hype Has Gone Into Plaid

The Hype Has Gone Into Plaid
« on: November 05, 2011, 11:28:32 AM »
ESPN just pulled the "Bamah" verse from Ezekial to help perpetrate the notion that this game has reached a spiritual level.

Also, I've had Gameday on in the background since it started, and I think they've mentioned other football teams maybe twice.

I guess they figure this is the national championship, but Texas Tech could have never beaten Oklahoma.

Alabama was unmovable until Stephen Garcia and South Carolina won last year.

No way Alabama could beat Florida - who returned everybody from their 2008 BCS championship team including Jesus at quarterback - in 2009.

The Utah Utes had zero chance to compete in the Sugar Bowl against a 1 loss SEC Alabama team in 2008.  Alabama was too well coached and too talented.  Utah was admirable, but they were a mid major.  No real NFL players.  Until they won.

LSU was number one and loaded with talent headed to the BCS championship game until Kentucky - fucking Kentucky - beat them in 2007.

In 2006, Ohio State had the most dangerous dual threat quarterback in recent history in Troy Smith along with a truckload of talent, and there was no way Florida - a team lucky to get into the BCS game - could even compete with Ohio State until they blew the Buckeye train off its tacks.

In 2005, USC was without a shadow of a doubt the greatest team of all time.  Too many superstars.  Too many legends.  Too much quality coaching.  Too much dominance.  In the Rose Bowl at home.  And Texas came back from being down two scores with 5 minutes in the fourth to beat the greatest team of all time.

2004, they said no one could beat the Auburn Tigers.  Too many NFL draft picks on the field.  Solid coaching.  The defense was too fast.  The running backs were unstoppable.  Jason Campbell was on fire.  They said no one could beat Auburn, and no one did bitches.

In 2003, Oklahoma had the best team of all time.  Unstoppable.  Blowing everyone out on a straight shot to the BCS national championship.  Until Kansas State with three losses beat them 35-7 - THIRTY FIVE TO FUCKING SEVEN - in the Big 12 championship game.

In 2002, Miami was returning a lot of veterans from the 2001 team that was considered one of the best of all time.  They had plugged in young guys that were just as good as the 2001 players - guys like Sean Taylor RIP.  And Ohio State - who had struggled to win games all year - was a huge underdog yet still found a way to beat the Miami Hurricanes.

In 2001, Nebraska had the Heisman Trophy winner and a team that was dominating most of the season.  Until they faced #14 Colorado - a team that was shaky all year - and got the shit kicked out of them and gave up a mile in rushing yards.

Shall I keep going?

Or is my point clear?

I guess I am a bad SEC fan. Don't listen amymore to douche bags talking heads. I have a faint feeling if you went back and look at their picks you would find their wrong more than their right. I know I will have to hang my head in shame but I am not watching the game-I am going watch SMU vs Tulsa-Chessy game-Yes-but take the train stop at an Irish Pub. Have a few drinks and some warm food-walk over to the game, watch a little football, cheap tickets ($18.00 to get in)walk back to same pub and a few more drinks.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

bamah (Baw-Maw) - A high place, Pagan shrine of worship; seat of heathenish or idolatrous worship.

“High places” were / are often associated with the pagan practice of infant immolation – (see Ezekiel 20:31.)

bammers truly are retarded sheep.

They need to get this fucking game played.  Thankfully, anymore we're spared the morons calling in seriously asking Pawwwwl to break down the game, or the other ilk that wants to call in and give their ultra serious prognostication based on some stupid irrelevant shit they think only they have uncovered that makes it a bammer blowout, or LSU blowout.

I'm fucking sick and tired of hearing the "rematch" talk, no matter who it's from, bammer, LSU, or media.  If this one doesn't really count, then there's no sense in fucking playing it!   It's either "THE GREATEST GAME OF THE CENTURY BESTEST TO EVERY BE PLAYED"...OR, it's simply a warm up for a game to be played 8 weeks from now, assuming everything falls in to place to make that rematch happen.

Play the fucking game...winner moves on to try and remain undefeated, loser tries to get the Sugar Bowl.
