NFL Off Topic Rant - Mark Ingram

Cam's blowing up the stats, but his team is losing.  While Cam is young and has made some bad mistakes, he's equally amazing in his ability to put his subpar team in a position to win. 

Has Cam complained once about the team he's on?  Has he bragged about his ability?  Is he sitting on Twitter talking shit to people who have something to say to him?

No.  At least not that I've seen. 

(Side note - Cam's already setting NFL records.  Not just rookie ones.  Save that for another thread.)

But because I follow my favorite players on my favorite team, I'm now forced to read tweets by the bullshit, blowhard, pissy whiney ass bitch Mark Ingram.

I wanted to like him.  He seems to have potential.  The coaches love his work ethic.

But he's acting just like he did in college.  At least, just like Auburn fans said he did.

Mark Ingram ran for 51 yards on 14 carries today.  Not too bad considering the Saints are pass happy, and the Bears are stout up front.  But nothing special. 

But here comes Mark after a Saints victory on Twitter:

The last thing I'm worried about is people fantasy points lol seriously! As long as our TEAM get the W I'm good!

He also retweeted:

Yo mark what's up with theses haters ?? It's easy to hate when u watch from the living room #HatersManUp!! WHODAT

Just yesterday, he was already fighting back against "haters":

You real tough talking mess in your tweets *pointing my finger laughing at u*

Someone doesn't know how to handle the spotlight.  Maybe he was sheltered playing at Alabama.  Everyone around him praised him, and I'm fairly certain Saban puts Twitter and Facebook on lockdown.  I doubt much conversation is allowed on their pages. 

Cam Newton is out there putting his body on the line, desperately trying to get his team a victory.  His "haters" are still hatin'.  Still trying to get into his head and call him a loser.  Cam just shrugs it off and goes to work.  Continues to set records.

Ingram's barely a blip on the radar, and he's spending his time fighting against faceless, nameless Twitter members.  They've gotten into his head.  They've made him wonder about being a loser.  He feels as if he has an answer to them.  Just not on the field.

One player's representing the values of the Heisman committee.  The other is not.

Come on, Mark.  As a Saints fan, I'm asking you to grow up.

If he cared about fantasy stats, maybe he wouldn't have fumbled today, which penalized whatever dumbass drafted and started his quitter ass.  Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles were more productive.

I agree. I knew from the beginning that Ingram was going to be a disappointment to Saints fans.

They have propped him up as some kind of savior. I knew, especially after we signed Sproles, that he would be our third most productive back, and only really useful for those goal line or third and short situations. A nice tool, but far from the world beater that was going to make us invincible.

Also agree that his ego can't handle it. Can't handle losing jock-riders with each mediocre performance.

Contrarily, the other Alabama alum has successfully brushed the haters off. After last week (despite being the defensive stat leader), message boards weren't content with just firing him, they wanted him dead. You should have read mentions of @Harp41 last weekend. Lots of "Fuck off and die you worthless piece of shit", and specific details on how he should kill himself. There were easily 200+ messages like this sent directly to him with @ mentions. This week? Player of the game.

Bonus: Clip of Harper and Jenkins "Moving it like Bernie". The latest dance craze to be based off of an excellent 80's movie.



By the way, in case you haven't noticed, I'm focusing more on the Saints than I am Auburn at this point. Nice to have a fallback on reasons to live during the football season after a shit-fest like Auburn put on the field this weekend.
