Auburn Professor needs support...
« on: March 16, 2011, 07:59:27 PM »
Last weeks Tsunami was devastating to many people and many families in Japan. It was devastating for us halfway across the world to watch and be able to do nothing to stop it. It was even more devastating for Auburn University Animal Nutrition Professor, Dr. Lee Chiba. Dr. Chiba and his wife are from the area of Japan which was hardest hit by the Tsunami. Thankfully, as of today, all of his family has been accounted for, however, at least one of his sisters has lost everything. I know there are so many families in Japan in need of our support, but I only thought it would be appropriate for the Auburn Family to rally around one of our own in what has to be one of his family's darkest times. I have set up a relief account in order for people to make contributions for the Chiba Family to help them get back on their feet as best they can. As of now there are 3 ways which you can contribute:

1) You can visit any Wells Fargo branch across the country and ask to make a deposit into the "Chiba Family Relief Fund" in Auburn/Opelika.

2) You can donate via paypal at LEECHIBAFUND@HOTMAIL.COM

3) You can make a check payable to the Chiba Family Relief Fund and mail it to:

I have linked Dr. Chiba's Auburn University website so you can put a face to his name. Dr. Chiba is my personal university academic advisor and means a great deal to the students who are under his guidance. He is a favorite in the Animal Science Department and it hurts us to see the ones he loves in despair. Let's show them the light that is the Auburn Family and make a difference for them today.

If Dr. Chiba's brother/cousin/uncle is Sonny Chiba, then i'm donating everything I can beg/borrow/steal/pawn.

Jokes aside, I'm donating and you, Josiah, are a one man charity machine.

My hat is fully off to you and I hope that the world knows that YOU are the distillation of the Auburn Spirit.

You can keep a wooden stake in your trunk
On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

He ran into a pine tree while skiing.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
