In the docs, Schelske claims Barker -- a former NFL player -- has been sending harassing text messages, like: "Satan is controlling your thoughts and actions. You are what Jesus stood against ... The things I have seen with my own mind is a man possessed by Satan ... Away from us Satan!!!"
I saw this on another board and thought it was pretty funny.

And Jay Barker would know!
I mean, he embodies what Christ represented. I particularly like how Jay mimics Christ when he belittles Auburn and promotes Alabama as being superior to all things in life not just football. I believe he got that idea from Jesus's sermon on the Capstone in Matthew chapter 33.

That guy.....is the reason people turn away from religion. What a moron. I used to like him before he got all anti Auburn and self righteous theologian.

I've heard things about Jay that lead me to believe he has an explosive temper as well. Some of them came out if his own mouth, others from folks that lived near him out on 280. I believe he's sincere in his Christian faith, and doesn't use it as a sheild or crutch, but he's human and has his faults too.

Yeah, this is pretty reprehensible, really. Why exactly is Jay convinced that this guy is possessed by Satan? Because he banged his wife before he did?
Here's the context of what BZ posted.
Sara Evans' ex-hubby Craig Schelske is on the defensive after the country singer's new man accused him of being possessed by Satan -- claiming it's all part of a smear campaign to turn his own kids against him.
Schelske (left) filed legal docs in Tennessee recently ... asking a court to modify his 2007 child custody agreement with Evans, and it has a lot to do with the country singer's new dude Jay Barker (right).
In the docs, Schelske claims Barker -- a former NFL player -- has been sending harassing text messages, like: "Satan is controlling your thoughts and actions. You are what Jesus stood against ... The things I have seen with my own mind is a man possessed by Satan ... Away from us Satan!!!"
Schelske also claims in the papers that Evans and Barker have been berating and criticizing him in front of their 3 kids.
Schelske wants the court to give him physical custody of his kids for 6 months at a time -- and to stop Evans and Barker from trashing him in front of them. Evans' reps couldn't be reached for comment.

Does harassing and judging someone, and also accusing someone of being possessed by Satan exactly ring "sincere Christian"? Just saying...I think the dude is a looney toon.

First I've heard of this, and it sounds like someone who is letting the temper I described get out of hand. Christians do make mistakes, and he doesn't pretend to be perfect. I'm not defending his behavior on this, mainly because I don't know what the real truth is, or all that's going on. Jay got a huge dose of "organized religion Christianity" when he got divorced, and he's been "judged" too by hypocrits and zealots. And, you don't know what Sarah's ex has been doing to upset their life either. Bottom line to me is, if he's sending these type messages, he's asking for legal trouble at the very least, and needs to have someone with a cooler head advise and counsel him.
By the way, we as humans, can make judgements on other's behaviors. That's a "Christian fallacy" used by some to deflect blame for poor behavior...calling down someone for clearly bad or wrong behavior or actions isn't "judging the person" it's judging the behavior. Judging the person and their soul is the province of God, but behavior can be judged by humans.
I hate Jay's anti-Auburn bullshit too, but don't lump that in with "false Christianity".
