Tigers at SEC Media Days July 23 Meeting

July 14, 2010

The Auburn University football team will be represented by head coach Gene Chizik and student-athletes Josh Bynes, Aairon Savage and Lee Ziemba at the 2010 Southeastern Conference Football Media Days in Hoover, Ala., July 21-23. The Tigers will be featured in the third day of coverage at the Wynfrey Hotel July 23, meeting with media from around the country between 8:30-11:10 a.m. CST.

Bynes, a linebacker, led the team and was seventh in the SEC with 104 tackles last season.

Savage looks to return to his All-SEC defensive back form after missing the last two seasons due to injury.

Second-team All-SEC tackle Lee Ziemba, who has started every game of his career, anchors a solid offensive front.

From one of my favorite announcers, that is Buffer from the UFC; "AND ITS TIME!". I love some SEC Media days. I enjoy all the quotes and notes but mostly I love it because it is now Auburn football 2010 season.

I was a little surprised to see Aairon Savage picked to represent.  No problem with it.  It's just that he hasn't played in 2 years and guys like Fannin, Pugh, Blanc etc. have been through the wars.  Maybe it's a reward for his persistence in sticking withit through the injuries.  War Dax Eagle baby.

Not that the others don't, but Savage is an excellent speaker and will represent us well.  (See most of the Auburn: Everyday clips)

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but don't the players vote on this?

I honestly don't know.  Like I said, I have no problem with it at all. Great for Savage.  Just a little surprising since he hasn't played in a couple of years.  If they voted on it, that makes perfect sense.

SEC media reporter: "So, Mr. Ziemba how have the Offensive L......"

Lee Ziemba: "Oh, we're gellin' pretty good, we took Brandon and Big Zo under our wings and we're helping them adjust to Coach Malzahn's offense."

SEC Ref: "False Start, number 73!!!"

He hates the comeback kid...mainly because he has stumbled so miserably in his own comeback bid.
