Really good shit...especially around the 6 min mark.

NICE!!!
Like in the Octagon, you can prepare and gameplan until your head explodes, but once you get hit in the face all of the preparation and gameplanning goes right out the window. You'll see fighters do exactly what their corner asks of them right at the start of the round, then he gets hit...it all goes all out the window, until the end of the round. Same thing here, all of the chalkboard work is great....until the ball snaps and five players are going five different directions.
-
Man, that was awesome. Auburn had to have gone undefeated last year from what I saw in that video. Surely nobody stopped that offense. So.... National Championship? SEC Championship? Division Champions? Well, surely you came in 2nd in your division right? No??? There's only 6 teams and you came in 5th??? But... but...... but......Coach Calzone's offense...awesome...... but....
-
Do the world a favor and go tongue kiss a loaded .38 revolver.

:vn:
Fantastic video!
I agree about the 6 minute mark.
Made me happy.
-
Do the world a favor and go tongue kiss a loaded .38 revolver.
It makes me happy how much you hate the truth. Breaking up your little circle jerk with facts. The facts are that Coach Calzone wasn't good enough to finish higher than 5th in the west. The fact that you tards think of last year as a success really only shows how low your standards are. If Alabama had a year like Auburn did last year we'd jump out a window, Auburn fans are.... are you ready for it...here it comes........ satisfied. It's why you weren't given a shot in 04, they just figured you'd be happy with 2nd, and what did you do??? Had a parade and proved them right. Losers.

The Best Fucking Ice Cream I've Ever Ate
Ingredients
3 cups half-and-half
1 cup heavy cream
8 large egg yolks
9 ounces vanilla sugar
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Directions
Place the half-and-half and the heavy cream into a medium saucepan, over medium heat. Bring the mixture just to a simmer, stirring occasionally, and remove from the heat.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Gradually add the sugar and whisk to combine. Temper the cream mixture into the eggs and sugar by gradually adding small amounts, until about a third of the cream mixture has been added. Pour in the remainder and return the entire mixture to the saucepan and place over low heat. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. You want to shoot for a temperature of 170 to 175 degrees. Pour the mixture into a container and allow to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. When this time has passed, stir in the vanilla extract. Don't add it too soon or you'll fuck it up. Place the mixture into the refrigerator and once it cools enough not to form condensation on the lid, cover and store for 4 to 8 hours (or until it cools to around 40 degrees).
Finally, pour this shit into an ice cream maker and process according to the directions that came with the damn thing. This should take around 25 to 35 minutes, or roughly half a robusto cigar. Serve as is for soft serve or freeze for another 3 to 4 hours to allow the ice cream to harden.
It takes a while to make this, but it is well worth the wait.

Pretty basic if you ask me. This was really nothing more than elementary football. This guy did nothing but dissect the reverse. Of course that is why the reverse works...it is why people have been running it for 30 years. There is a lot more (hopefully) to Malzhan's offense than the reverse play...
-

fixed. I also don't know what he was trying to point out on the clip that he says "Calzone's offense tends to make players look foolish too", especially since it features Todd throwing an incomplete pass. I love films that breaks down offenses and defense. A Texas poster broke down the SEC Championship game and it was really strong. This however not only features the same damn play 70 times but is laden with sloppy arrows point out the obvious (i.e. what direction the player is running????) and an obvious lack of video to chose from (or maybe he just doesn't know much about football and that's the only play that stands out to him when thinking of Calzone's offense).
-
War Eagle, Im curious if birminghams complete agreement with your assessment of the cutups is a clue to you?
-
Remember that this was Gus's first year offense at Auburn.
It'll be tighter this year.
A lot of that footage was making the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS look like fools. And upsetting their GOD of a coach.
Auburn's defense lost that game. It will be better this year, too.

You are right. An offense wins and loses a game and nothing else plays into it. Nothing to do with Auburn having the #11 ranked Defense in the SEC. Nothing at all. PCT forgot to tell you to pull the trigger too.
-
That was pretty cool to watch. The big thing to me is not only the freezing of some defenders, but also seeing the wall of blockers that are leading the runner. No reason not to get 5-7 yards a pop if you can get two or three guys running interference.

This. Period.
Also, we have a quarterback that is now more mobile than a glacier. In fact, we have two back-ups behind the starter that would run this offense better than the starting QB last year, with the experience they have NOW.

Curious coach, did you watch the posted video? Did you see a breakdown of he same reverse play over and over?

Not sure which video you watched...it also said at the beginning "a FEW plays"
Plays:
1. 46 Power with Z deep motion (FAKE Reverse) Gain 5+ yds.
2. Same Play, different game, Gain 10+
3. Play Action Pass off the same look and motion, TD pass to a WR that had nobody within 5 yards of him, followed by a breakdown of how the LB and S were completely fooled. I guess the fact that the guy that produced this video could only make "sloppy arrows" on someone elses video completely invalidates it.
4. Fake Dive, Play Action Pass to a clearly wide open Fannin in the flat. Not well executed on the pass, so I guess that means that the Xs and Os of it are not any good. We all know that all good plays work 100% of the time.
5. 47 Power, (to the left), this time Todd and RB fake the speed option on the backside, completely fooling the LB, resulting in a 60 yd TD run.
6. Dive fake, then option action...NOW WE FINALLY SEE THE REVERSE THAT SOME SAW ON EVERY PLAY...result...65 yd TD where T Zack went untouched for almost 30 yards.
7. Play starts right on our standard Buck Sweep look (including both pulling guards), REVERSE to Fannin goes for about 18 yards, Saban livid because, again, our rinky dink HS offense has his super duper defense on their heels.
8. Wildcat, Jet Sweep Fake (this is NOT a reverse), Play Action Pass for a TD to a wide open TE.
Now a little breakdown of Malzahn's Tempo, and his Quick Huddle/Quick Snap tactic.
9. Play Action Pass, from under center, gain @ 8 yards to Fannin...NEXT PLAY...
10. We bring in a Guard to run at FB (really selling the run), but since he's not as fat at Mt. Cody, nobody made a huge deal out of it, and we run another Play Action Pass, and the bite on it leaves 2 AU receivers on one bammer defender for a TD.
11. One more Play Action Pass from under center off a quick huddle and snap...40 plus yard gain.
Out of 11 plays, 2 were reverses. But since we didn't win an NC, then it really doesn't matter. I'm sure I'll be called a "know it all" too.

I liked it. Gave me some ideas for my 12/13 yr old team in the fall.

8/12 of the last years (that's 3/4 for bammers who took remedial math), Alabama has had an equal or worse record than we just did. 5/12 (one game shy of half) have been losing seasons.
In other words, get to jumping.

Dude...I didn't attack you. I just said it was basic. And, it was pretty much the same play, with different variations. The motion from the WR with some plays being the dive, some being the PA pass, and some being the reverse.
Yes, it did talk about the huddle up too. I forgot that part. I actaully didn't realize Isom was in the back field. That was pretty cool.
I still think it is pretty basic. It was not a huge break down of the offense. The same point could have been taken away from saying, "misdirection in the back field fucks LB's up". Yes it does. It is what misdirection and motions do to defenses. The same thing could be said about the triple option...

Thanks for the gift, you're very kind.

Curious coach, did you watch the posted video? Did you see a breakdown of he same reverse play over and over?
I did not see the same play. What I did notice is his offense reminds me of the option kinda. Everyone must do their job and handle their responsibility. I could be wrong on how to defend it but that is how I would attack it. I would also try to read through the OTs not the OGs. JMTC.

That was Saban's read and react defense. The fact that the bammer defensive guys can't read puts him at in a mofunk.
Our defense . . . Just put a bunch of guys out there who have no fucking clue and tell them to hit somebody when the ball is snapped. Burn or get burned.
We're getting smarter. We may even have a plan this year.

Petrino's offense< Gus's offense. Both of our defenses sucked. Ours worse than yall's.
We are more familiar with Gus's stuff than most of the teams yall will face. That helps us.
I defer back to the old wishbone teams. Hard to prepare for when you only faced it once a year or had never played against it.
I'm still thinking that Alabama will be the third place "A" team in the west this year.

Def not taking Bammer's side over Arky's here, but they have lost 2 games in the last 24 months. In those 24 months - They have won the west twice, the sec once and have a NC. Just saying....let us or you or anybody else beat them, and then we'll get on here and crow. Until then, they are the bar - and it is high.

Why would Ark be more familiar with Gus' offense than any other team? He coached there 4 years ago, under a different staff, and didn't even get to run his offense when he was there. If any staff were more familiar with the Gus Bus, then it would be Nutt and the Rebs. Ark. had a plan that day, and they stopped us cold. Sometimes even a mediocre defense comes up with a good plan, and executes it. Bammer had 2 close calls last year...one with UT, and one with Auburn, yet had their way with much better defenses like Florida's. Auburn's sorry ass defense gave them, and their Heisman winner fits when other teams had run through us like shit through a goose. It happens.

We have kids still on the team who played while Gus was here.
We have some coaching staff still here that was here while Gus was. We played Tulsa while Gus was there.
Nutt don't know shit about Gus's system. It was too complicated for him. Hell, it made his brother's bwain bweed. I think we ran the HUNH one series while Gus was here.

Yeah, but unless Arky ran something other than what I saw in Auburn that year with Mitch Mudstain and in the games on TV, they know little or nothing about what Malzahn is running now. Mudstain threw what, 8 passes in the game. All I recall is Mcfadden left and right..Jones left and right..more McFadden...more Jones.
