And Mike Beebee has pulled his job out of the shithole.  He must have some some serious shucking and jiving to get this deal worked out...

The University of Texas on Monday said it was staying in the Big 12, followed moments later by pledges from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M to remain in a league that had seemed to be falling apart last week when Nebraska (Big Ten) and Colorado (Pac-10) decided to leave over the next two years.

The Texas announcement came shortly after Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott confirmed that Texas had declined an invitation to become the 12th member of his conference.

"University of Texas President Bill Powers has informed us that the 10 remaining schools in the Big 12 Conference intend to stay together," Scott said in a statement.

The way the cards appear to be falling, it doesn't look like we're gonna need to expand. I hope we don't.

Everyone's just catching up to us with 12 teams. We're still the better conference. The only way I want to add a member is if it's someone that will kick some OOC ass in bowl match ups. Not another MSU type.

Well now that the Big XII is two schools short, who should they go after?  I think Arkansas would be perfect for that weak conference.  Really though, any thoughts on this?  Maybe BYU and Fresno St or TCU.

I've never understood why TCU wasn't there already.

Actually I think ESPN uses the same skreets as Prowler.

Texas to the Pac-10, unless they don't.
