Sophomore tight end/deep snapper Bailey Woods has transferred out of Auburn to Georgia State, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Woods played in 11 games last season, all on special teams. He was also the team’s backup deep snapper behind Josh Harris.
Woods will graduate with a degree in public administration in May and will have two years of eligibility left.
Woods was the Philip Lutzenkirchen of Auburn’s 2007 recruiting class. He was a four-star recruit across the board and considered the nation’s seventh-best tight end and 15th-best prospect in Georgia, according to Rivals.com.
Woods is a Marietta native and will be able to play right away for Georgia State, which will be kicking off its first year of football as a championship subdivision school this season under Bill Curry.
