A little more credible, but not much.
Also, that has to be a punch in the gut. I don't see the recruits flocking to his old ass in the next 3 weeks.

I don't have skreets, but I just saw the same thing on another site. Not sure which one, because I've been to several in the last little bit.

Can't you just see the look on grandpa's face when he walks in for his first meeting with the team and they all rip their shirts off and start chanting?

Airfare to Knoxville $250
New house in Knoxville $1.5m
Getting ass raped by your new team...Priceless!
-
If that's the environment in Knoxville, USC must be poised for a modern day Sodom &/OR Gomorah.
-
According to UT'S Rivals site, UT has hired a search firm. Apparently there is some sort of mystery candidate, and according to some of the boards, that is Lance Thompson.
-
Lance Thompson! Geez get me Sexton on the phone, NO call Spurrier.
-
UPDATE!.....the bastion of credible information (Wiki)
now has Cutcliffe listed ast he DUKE coach
-
Read that interim Kippy Brown said that Derek Dooley and Randy Edsall could be in the mix. Skip Holtz to S. FLA.

Randy Edsall is too nice of a guy to survive amongst the Wolfs of the SEC.

I've heard that Coach Cutcliffe wants to bring just about his entire staff with him, from Duke. But, whatever UT's AD's name is, is telling him that he wants Kippy to stay on along with the OL Coach and another coach. Word on the skreets, some boosters are trying to get Lovie Smith to come down. It seems to me that the level headed boosters (ie the intelligent ones) are wanting the coaches like; Troy Calhoun, Randy Edsell, David Cutcliffe...basically really good coaches, but not the "Splashy" type. The other boosters, the ones that want the "Splash Hire", regardless if the coach has been a College HC or not, wants the coaches like; Lane Kiffin, John Gruden, Will Muschamp, now apparently Lovie Smith. Guess we'll see who wins this battle. It could be...Verse #2.

cutcliffe officially says "no thanks" to the Vols, is staying at Duke.
-
It's true. Does anybody want that job? This is making Auburn's coaching search in 2008 look downright organized.

Duke's Cutcliffe turns down Tennessee

DURHAM, N.C. — Football coach David Cutcliffe is staying at Duke.
Amid reports that he was a candidate for the opening at Tennessee, Cutcliffe said Friday he would remain with the Blue Devils because "Duke is the place for our family."
Because of his connections to the Southeastern Conference and the Volunteers' program, Cutcliffe was considered one of the obvious choices to replace Lane Kiffin, who left earlier this week for Southern California.
Cutcliffe was on Tennessee's staff from 1982-1998 and from 2006-07.
In a statement issued through the school, Cutcliffe acknowledged his ties to Tennessee but said Duke is where he wants to coach.
He is 9-15 in two seasons at Duke, which won a combined eight games in the five years before he arrived.
-
That's really funny.
Duke's coach snubs TN.
-
Seriously. This is sad.

Seriously. This is sad.
Epic was the word i was thinking but that works as well.
-
And the reason why???? Because he is too fuckin' loyal to his assisstants....just like he was at Ole Miss. UT didn't want all of the coaches that he wanted to bring, mainly because they still had another year left on their contracts and didn't want to pay out that extra money...plus the coaches that they wanted to stay are good coaches. He gave the UT people until today, to make up their minds if they want him to come with his coaches (the same ones that've been with him since his UT days). UT dragged their feet, he said fuck off....they countered that with a coach that might be even better...also, Derek wants to keep those coaches, that the UT people wanted...because they're good coaches. Better than the ones Cutcliffe was wanting to bring over.
