Title: Self-fulfilling prophecies
Post by: Kaos on January 14, 2010, 07:36:04 AM
Ole Miss.

Started the year in the top ten.  Media darlings.  Finished the year, what, 8-5?

Also finished the year RANKED in the top 25.  Why?

Was it because of the great finish and that resounding loss to rival Mississippi State?

Were they ranked just because pollsters don't like to be wrong?

The fact that the Ole Miss Rebels ended the year ranked in the Top 25 is reason enough to get rid of polls.

9-4, they finished 9-4 and in two of their last three games they defeated the #8 and # 18 team in the country.

By the way, I agree with you....Ole miss should never be ranked....except in quality of their co-eds.

"Sometimes you feel like a Nutt sometimes you don't."....and the folks that comprise the AP voter roster make Houston look like the brightest sanest man on the planet.
