He's taking over for Lee Corso or Lou Holtz?

If Pete Carroll leaves USC for the NFL (which the USC Rivals message board seems to think it's a foregone conclusion), then the fat monkey willfully climbed off of Notre Dame's back.

I think he's saying the one nearly guaranteed loss for Notre Dame every year (USC), just took a big turn into the unknown. If Kelly lives up to his expectations, the biggest obstacle on the opposite side line (Carroll) just hit the road.

Exactly.
Consider Notre Dame's roster. I don't buy the "Notre Dame can't recruit due to academic requirements" bullshit. It's no tougher than USC. They've had a couple of top five classes. They have a talented quarterback prospect. They have skill players. They have linemen. All they need is a coached up defense to win 9-10 games on their easy schedule.
With USC spinning down the shitter, Brian Kelly can build momentum. End the season with a win over USC. That win could possibly put them in a BCS game, and the media will jump all over it.

ND will play for it all within three years. Something else you can mark down.

I would agree with that, if you can build a powerhouse at Cincy you can coach.

And what if you can build a trailer fire at Iowa State?

Your a fireman.

I won't make a prediction on the years it will take but I agree that it will be soon. Recruiting is NOT ND's issue. They have had Top 10 classes the last 4 yrs with very little attrition. They have talent. Clausen may have been a total douche fag, but he was good. So was Golden Tate. Kelly is a winner. They will be better.

That's easy - you coach at Auburn. That's, like, the easiest, most obvious, open-book question ever.
