17-17 now, but they are so one-dimensional that it isn't funny.

But yeah, they don't need no 5 star running back.

We don't need Dyer. Check back in the next several years.

Yaw, yaw, yaw.
We have 4 RBs that will/would be in the top 2 rotation of every SEC team next year. Dyer is a good back, but if you think he is a savior for the program, meh.
He's a good addition but he ain't the one to carry you to the promised land. Our bunch of RBs will out rush yall's for the foreseeable future.
And we're a passing team.

But Petrino does give them their best chance. And if Mallett(sp?) stays another season they will make it very tough in the west.

Yeah, I'm dranking. Our backs will rush more by committee than Auburns backs will for the next several years.
Grab a chair and watch.

Everybody was saying they would contend for the West this year as well. Didn't happen. I think they have shown that even though they have Mallett, they don't have much else there. They have some serviceable guys there, sure. A few guys that get it done. But as far as absolute go-to playmakers? Nothing really that makes you worry. When you look at their 2010 recruiting class, its perplexing.

We are one month from signing day, and they have 16 commits, with only one 4* committed (who had 3 offers). There are only 4-5 4* guys left on Arky's board that are uncommitted, however, only one has Arky in their top 3. Ironically enough, he is from Arkansas. But according to boartitz, they don't need their in-state talent, and they don't rely on it. Especially 5* elite running backs, because they're loaded already. Vanderbilt is up to 22 commitments with only two 2* guys, and no 4* guys. All of the rest are 3* talent. Kentucky's class is pretty much done too with 24 commitments, and their class is better than Arkansas'. Iowa State's class is done, and is ranked better than Arky. And so on, and so on. If you're wanting to compete for the West, you're going to have to recruit better than on par with Kentucky and Vanderbilt to do it. Especially when you're getting your lunch money taken two years straight by some of the big boys in the SEC.

Sure, you might find some luck a game or two and beat somebody you're not supposed to. But you're not going to be a contender. But then again, I'm not so sure that most Arky fans know the difference at this point.

Not. Gonna. Happen.  Wingo Jr has skills.  The rest would be 2nd/3rd team at most schools in the SEC.

everybody?

Lindy's had them ranked 42
Sporting news had them 5th in West, and not in top 25
Athlon had them 5th in West... 55 overall

Those were the only magazine I could still find around the house.
But, a spot on point nonetheless.

Well, I saw the giants that Arky recruited last season and if Mallett decides to stay, they will only improve. And they always find a running game, not usually on par with Auburn but "serviceable" enough to embarass most teams (Auburn thrice) that take them lightly. Petrino likes to chunk it (see Louisville) I think that's the blueprint.

And what if Mallett decides to jump this year?

If Mallett is smart, he hauls ass. I think he could go higher than Tebow. If Tebow went before Mallett, it would simply be due to the hype factor IMO.

I would think that Mallett goes higher than Tebow, if he decides to "haul ass" out.

Tebow will be a great pro, put it on the board.

It's going to depend on who takes him.  Word on the skreets is that the Jaguars will get him, probably second round.
