I'm tired of threads about Bama, RWS, and Vag. Time to move back to Auburn talk.
By my count, besides Mississippi State, NW is the only other spread team Auburn has faced this year. The Auburn defense is just not special this year and will probably give up points.
How many will they give up to Northwestern?
How many will the Auburn offense score?

I meant teams from real conferences against real competition. The two high schools you mentioned aren't worth discussing.

Facing the Vandy of the Big, Slow Ten...er...eleven shouldn't be cause for too much alarm.

Isn't Auburn the 9th or 10th place team in the SEC this year? Watch where we throw stones. Iowa and Wisconsin didn't think NW was shit either. They both got worked by that team. They are not to be taken lightly.

The 10th best team in the SEC ought to still be able to work most of the Big 10 without breaking too much of a sweat.
NW has a potent offense...for the Big 10.

No, I laughed heartily when they gave the blubberer that trophy Saturday.

Northwestern is not a bad team at all. Mostly because they're fairly balanced all the way around. Give up only 123 yards on the ground (in a conference that runs a lot) and only 220 through the air.
They don't have much of a running game, but they have Kafka at QB. He's kind of like a Matt Grothe from South Florida (remember that team from the Big LEAST that beat us at home a couple years ago).
Anyway, they're a sold football team. You're right, we should beat them, but we'll have to play well to win, otherwise we'll live with being NWs first bowl win since 1948....that's not good.

Don't you think that last sentence kind of undermines your overall point?

Not too much....my point was that this NW team is pretty good.
But losing to them would be like losing to Vanderbilt, because everyone thinks of them as a team that hasn't won anything since.....ever. Well, actually, they did go to the Rose Bowls in 96, they just lost to USC.
