3 points he made:
** He said we need to first and foremost create short fields.
** We need to take away the run and make McElroy beat us.
** Chris Todd needs to hit 2-3 DEEP DEEP Passes.
Interesting. Did he use this philosophy last year? Kodi said we ran a conservative game plan last year. Hmmmm
I know Kaos hates when people say this, but thanks Tubs for taking 3 yrs off recruiting as Dye said. God, we're gonna need a miracle today.
He also said Georgia's 3-4 D will match up good with against tech's triple option offense, with the MLB on the FB. If Ga contains GT's offense that would be an even bigger miracle than the above one.
-
No! Todd needs to actually throw 3 touchdown passes and Tate, McCalleb and Fannin need to combine for over 150 yards. Special teams has to pin 'em and we have to force turnovers. Todd and the defense have to play out of their minds, their best in two seasons.
-
Tubbs has had his fifteen minutes of fame, now it's up to some others to clean up his mess. He really needs to STFU.
-
You Tubs haters should form a club or something...call it the "selective memory club".
-

His "mess" is a whole lot cleaner than you are willing to admit. We have the players, yesterday should have shown you that.

Simply amazing.

I'm not going to get into a battle over my opinion of how Tubbs finished his tenure at Auburn. All I can say is I liked the man, but the condition with which he left our team last year was abominable. It's was as if he didn't care anymore. What stuck out the most was how when our offense wouldn't perform that well on a play, he would just wave off at them from the sidelines in disgust. Well, he was the HC and had plenty of time to prepare the team for each game. He didn't do his job so he was replaced. Even people outside of football knew he wanted out and wanted to be paid to leave (selfish). And, he got what he wanted and now needs to STFU. JMHO. That's the end of my diatribe concerning him.

Y'all do realize, he's paid to give these opinions?
As for him wanting out? Bammers wanted us to believe that Tubs wanted to be anywhere but Auburn for pretty much the entire time he was our coach. And, IF he wanted out, and wanted to be paid, can't blame him...have you heard or read some of the ungrateful shit people, AUBURN PEOPLE, write and say about him? Like he never won shit, and ran the program in the ground a la Terry Bowden?
-
Where did he run the program into the ground? How would last year have turned out if we had of had a steady hand under center and a less insane OC? But I admit that he did quit after the Vandy loss. He knew he was fired, that those in power who he kept at bay for years finally got the right bullet for their gun. He quit, then got fired and we got fucked by cowards and drunks.

*13 Propsects made it to campus out of 25. IMO, of those 13 only about 5 have reached SEC type quality*
So in CTT and Co.'s last three years, they only brought in 54 prospects out of a possible 100. Also of those 54 prospects, IMO, only about 29 have reached SEC type quality. Of those 29, 5 were not on the team this year because they decided to either leave early or their eligibility ran out.

Question.....what guys left due to medical, and what guys were shown the door by Chizik out of the names you listed?
Also, I find one of your "FAILS" amusing.....seeing as how it wasn't even something I said. You made up a quote so you could "FAIL" it. Par for the course. I know, you've already said your logic. Because I voted YES to the poll question "Will Ben Tate cry like a bitch if Alabama beats Auburn?". But even by that standard you didn't even quote what you say I said by voting yes.

More bad apples and non qualifiers than Medical/Chizik.

I also added the '05 signing class...that was the class that followed the Undefeated '04 season. 54 prospects made it to campus and stayed with the team for more than one year out of a possible 100. That's what one would call slipping.

Damn, guess I understated the attrition rate in another thread. I said 40%. Looks more like 46%. Yeah, bang up job by Tubs on the recruiting trail.
GW, you just need to shut the fuck up douche wipe. You are an embarrassment to AU.

Attrition does not equal recruiting fail.
You lose.
Move on.

It may not equal it but it does play a part.

You can't control what's going to happen in the future when you're recruiting the kids. It's impossible to know in advance which ones aren't going to put in the work academically, are going to get hurt, are going to decide to leave early, are going to go to Canada or are going to turn into big whining pusses.
You ask me? If Tuberville made any mistakes recruiting it was in trying to please the retarded "star whores" and taking chances on kids he might not have otherwise recruited.

Exactly. You don't know which ones will thrive and which ones won't which is why you hedge your bets with percentage guesses. Even that might not work all the time but the hit rate for the last few classes seems pretty low.
Maybe that is me looking at it with the benefit of hindsight.

WOW is all I can say.

Real talk here Kaos.
I usually know a dumbass when I see one. I.e. - Greasy Weasel. So did Tubs not see "the dumbasses" and bad apples that much?? I can see a year of bad attrition but when you see 3-4 years in a row, seeing into the future or not, that falls on the head coach. There are many of these recruits you know about half way into their senior seasons whether they will qualify or not. As far as pleasing the retarded stat whores, Tubs "claimed" until the very end he never looked at stars, so I doubt he was trying to please a bunch of message board goons like us or ESPN analysts.
You're a smart guy and you know I respect your opinion, but you have to know that Tubs took a ton of risks on a lot of these players. More than the norm. Now a lot of these risks are coming home to roost. Was depth THE problem this year? NO. But it was A problem.

The question bears asking.
Why did he take risks on kids when that was never his method (even at Ole Miss) to success? What caused him to do that?
You will never get me to buy the "lazy recruiting" bullshit -- because that's what it is -- bullshit. Unmitigated horse manure.
Did he throw up his hands in exasperation after the loss to Vanderbilt when it was readily apparent that he had no support among those in the AU administration? Probably. Did some of his fire and urgency dissipate when the AU administration gave him the polite handclap after 2004 instead of giving him anything and everything to turn the program loose? Mine would have. The realization that no matter what you did the goober in charge was going to be busily honing his knives would have caused a sense of resignation and "fuck you" in me. That it didn't in Tuberville any more than it may have is quality in my book.

So what is the answer to this? Are you telling me that he took risks on kids because he had to?

By doing what he did though, he didnt hurt the administration. He didnt hurt Lowder, Walker or Jacobs. He hurt the players and the fans. We stood by him. He didnt stand by us.

Screw any thoughts that he or anybody else has about the reasoning behind it all...this is the truth.

You got it backward chief. He didn't "do" anything to harm Auburn, the players or the fans. He didn't stop recruiting (contrary to the ridiculous notion that he did). If he's got a sin, it's in trying to do something, anything to shake things up. He tried to bring in different/better kids (on paper) maybe. Because people WERE bitching about signing lightly recruited Stanley McClovers and putting them in a position to succeed and make NFL rosters -- more than any SEC team but one.
Did Tuberville run out of gas after Vandy? Yeah. He did. He knew it was over and the whole Franklin debacle was going to burn down the house.
The administration -- by not selling out to a guy who could go unbeaten in the SEC and win a NC (like the Bama turds have done for Saban) -- THOSE are the phuks who cut us off at the knees when they kept him leashed up.
There's a big wad of LSU fans who would dance their ass off if he took over there if/when Miles leaves. They'd be ecstatic to have him. Why do you think that is? Because he shoots a mean duck? What the fuck ever.

But I agree with everything else.
-
How did the administration cut him off at the knees? By paying him too many millions each year? By paying his assistants out the ass? The man simply was NOT recruiting well for whatever the reason the last couple of years. I fully understand that anything Saban does, from taking a shit to clipping his big toenail, gets hyped more than a Tiger Woods fender bender. But the fact was, the mijit was busting his ass hitting up every school where a prospect was, every home, every Friday night football game where a 4-5* was playing. Tuberville wasn't. He just wasn't.
Remember all the hoopla over the signing of Caddy? How did they close the deal? By Tuberville taking every coach he had and camping out on the kids door. That's how he used to work it. I can't recall one time we got a commit in his last two years because he personally took the time to fly to Miami or South Carolina or Mobile for that matter, and close the deal in person. If he did we didn't hear much if anything about it. And if that's what he was doing, he should have had the damn press with him. Saban did.
I'm not dogging Tommy Tuberville's overall body of work at Auburn. Loved the man and wanted him to succeed like no other. But, he dropped the ball big time the last couple of years. You get paid $$$$ as the head Corch to handle that shit. He didn't.

Oh, Jesus Christ. Focus on minutiae why don't you? Ignore the point. McClover was a name I yanked out of the air. No idea if he was recruited or not. So pick another one who wasn't heavily recruited but was or is in the NFL. Courtney Taylor work for you? Change it to that and pay attention to the topic, okay?

AHAHAHA......Stanley "The Predator" McClover not being highly recruited....AHAHAHA, you slay me.
Tray Blackmon, no one knew who he was coming out of High School....
Carnell Williams, WHO? Why did they call him Cadillac in HS? Did he drive an old Caddy or something? I don't even think West Alabama was looking at him.....

And you wonder why people don't think all your bulbs light up.

I called it days ago. It would not surprise me at all if it happened. I pray he goes there and stays the fuck out of the SEC.

Actually, Dontarius Thomas may have been the 1 star player you were looking for. LOL
Joking aside Kaos, you know Im not a Tubby basher and you know where I stand on most things. I will debate you honestly. On this one we will just agree to disagree. I just dont think the effort was there like it was the first 4-5 years when he was pulling Jason, Ronnie, Caddy, etc. And it DID hurt the fans. The fat cats he was frustrated with are still puppet masters and fat cats. He didnt hurt them. I remember the outpouring of support the fans gave him the week after jetgate when he contemplated leaving. He could have told the admin to F off but instead we got screwed. Just my opinion. I know we dont agree on this but its ok. I will live. :)

Tubby to Florida when Meyer takes the ND job.
Like I've said before....Chunky Charlie to the NFL as an OC at Cleveland. Petrino to ND, after being turned down by Meyer, Sheban and Stoops in that order. CTT to Arkansas.

No...no...no...it doesn't work like that.
If you build your whole "rep" on being the guy that gets it...that knows...that is smarter than you...
Then you do NOT get to just throw away a fact reference.
Sell that shit elsewhere.

He plays by his own rules.
If, say Prowler, were to do the same thing he would have ignored every subsequent post in this thread and only answered anything said from this point forward with a merciless throttling about what a bleeding idiot he was that knows nothing of which he speaks.
But he did it, so it's cool. Semantics.

Point stands regardless of the fact that the example I chose didn't fit. There are countless others even if you discard that one. If that were the ONLy example, then you'd have a case. As it is, you have nothing but wasted effort.
