Title: If you were Nick Saban...
Post by: Townhallsavoy on November 22, 2009, 08:00:43 PM
I would.

This game doesn't matter.

It's Texas vs. Florida/Alabama for the NC.

Deal with it.

I wouldn't.

If Alabama wins this game, we're still in the NC hunt. Lose to AU, and we will probably see another Sugar Bowl type showing in the SECCG. Don't get me wrong, I think Alabama will win, but you still have to make sure of that. Don't take any stupid risks, play your starters, and go play ball. They got half of a game off on Saturday, and played just enough to stay sharp. AU is capable of winning this game. I never try to predict the score, but I usually try to predict a winner. There are just so many intangibles that go along with the Iron Bow, there is never any telling what will happen.

So you're saying your second string can't beat our walk-ons?

Our walk-ons should be able to beat ULM. We should have beaten Utah. Neither happened. Shit just happens sometimes.

wrong.  It is impossible for Auburn to beat Alabama on Friday.  Not unlikely, Not far fetched, 100% impossible.  Auburn will lose and it's impossible otherwise.

Last night, I saw an ESPN highlite of Ingram running ove a few hapless UTC players.  The only thing the announcer said was "No obstacles between now and Florida."

Fuck you...fuck you and fuck you.

Is Bama a heavy favorite?  Uumm..yeah.  If both teams play their best game with no mistakes or any crazy shit happening..should Bama win?  Of course.  They're the #2 team in the country playing against an unranked 7-4 opponent.  Is it a foregone conclusion that Bama will win?

Not no...But...HELL NO!!!!

Question..were any of you in JHS in 1989 for the first time Bama came to Auburn?  Were you?  Remember the scenario?  Almost identical with Bama undefeated and ranked #2.  Auburn had no chance.  30-20 BITCHES!!!

We know about the 4 losses and the shitty play by the this squad and the lack of depth, blah, blah, blah.  We have a chance because this team has put 500+ yards and record numbers up against multiple teams.  They have a chance because Auburn went on the road and bitch slapped UT.  Bama had to have a couple of Mount Slobby field goal blocks to pull that game out.  Auburn also put more up on Ole Piss than Bama did.  Are there things to hang on to in order to give ourselves hope?  Hell yes.

Bottom line, let Bama come in thinking of nothing but St. Tebow.  Let them think there's no obstacle in their way.  Let a tackle get complacent against Antonio Coleman for one second..pleeeease.

Amen. LOL

AU will very, very, very likely lose.  But all it takes is one good ankle twist, and out goes your precious Ingram. I can only pray.

For that... and for a fiery plane crash carrying Nick Saban, but that's beside the point.

If you had a dentist he would probably be able to see the bullshit when you opened your mouth for a check up. Anything is possible...and if I was Saban, I'd play my starters and run Mark Ingram until his head fell off. He might be god around tuscaloosa....but part of that is the salvation from Auburn ass beatings that he rendered.....he knows where his bread is buttered.

BTW... sugartits Saban will run his starters until Auburn is half dead.  He doesn't risk losing. Period.  Especially not to Auburn.  That would humiliate him.

No but one of my fondest memories.  I was sitting on top of the U S embassy in Manila dialed in on multiple targets thinking they were about to come over the wall during a Coup d'état.  The civilians in the embassy were flat out scared.  After things were starting to cool off a couple of days afterward the ambassador asked each one of us if we needed anything.
I asked for him to get the Alabama/Auburn score.  He immediately turned around and left. Came back 5 minutes later with a piece of folded computer paper that had the score on it.

Oh I see.  So instead of getting off your ass and making it to JHS to support your Auburn Tigers, you were at war.  Just what kind of Auburn man are you, mister?

Oh, and by the way...they're always after Saban's lucky charms.  Would be get a bonus for being the mascot as well as the coach at Notre Dame?  Just wondering out loud.

No we were not at war but we turned the beautiful grounds of the U.S. embassy in Manila into a defensive position Chesty Puller would have been proud of.

Impossible.  To say there's no chance Auburn wins is giving them more of a chance than there actually is.  Our starters (except for McElroy) will be out by halftime.  McElroy will be out by the end of the 3rd.

I say Antonio Coleman takes him out.  Won't be any of our 3 remaining linebackers and Neiko would probably tackle the wrong guy if he did blitz.  My money's on Coleman.

The coaches were afraid he would already be in jail for killing a QB.  Can't risk that before the Iron Bowl, ya know.

I think Saban should hold a contest for the frats in Tuscaloosa.  Winner gets to play offense in the Iron Bowl for the entire 2nd quarter.

I also like the way Birmingham is handling this thread.  All part of my diabolical plan.

I'm sending letters and emails to all of the Alabama players asking them if they think Saban should rest the starters for the Iron Bowl.  I'll then send pictures of our walk-ons with their high school stats/measurements.

Hey, the bigger the head, the faster it goes limp.  Or something like that.

..I wouldn't be here talking about whether or not to play my starters, I'd be out in my Bentley Continental GT trying to find a better looking wife than Terry, and figuring how I could get more money from ND.

We weren't sure about last season.  We honestly thought Tuberville would pull a Tuberville and win the game.

This season, we couldn't beat your team if Ingram played center and Tiffin played nose tackle.  In fact, I think Saban should take a trip to Costa Rica for Thanksgiving.  He needs a week off, don't ya think?

Last season, there was no doubt AU would lose. Losing your OC halfway through the season, and seeing the chaos thereafter, only sealed the deal. In some ways, this year's AU team shows some of the same characteristics. However, at least AU has things "intact", compared to last season. Everything is headed in one direction. They actually have an offense.....well, somewhat. Here are some interesting stats:

Auburn has given up an average of 169.7 rushing yards per game, but 190.7 rushing yards per game in SEC play.

Auburn's offense has averaged 48.75 points to nonconference opponents, while only scoring an average of 25.6 ppg in SEC play.

Alabama is averaging 225.6 rushing yards per game on the season. In SEC play, that number is 195.1 rushing yards per game.

Alabama has surrendered an average of 9.9 ppg to opponents on the season, and 9.1 ppg to SEC teams.

We have faced a better offense than AU's against Arkansas, and shut it down. The best defense AU has faced was ranked #19th in the country, and AU won. But then again, they lost against the #28, #32, #54, and #95 ranked defenses. The best offense AU has won against was against Ole Miss, who is ranked #42 in total offense. Alabama is ranked #30 in total offense. Last season, Alabama's offense was ranked as #52, and the defense was ranked #3 in the country.

I think this game comes down to matchups. And I honestly can't see any advantages for AU there. The closest AU comes here is at RB. Overall, I think Alabama has the better backfield with an Ingram/Richardson tandom.

You mean 12 days. Don't say 2 weeks, Chizad will freak out.

As I said a few days ago, that is the only thing that gives me an uneasy feeling. I don't like that he has 12 DAYSSSSSS of prep time. Frankly, I'm not worried about prep time for the AU defense. Its not like we do anything all that fancy on offense that you need two weeks to prep for. But then again, his offense hasn't been able to overcome a team like Kentucky. His offense is fairly simplistic in itself as well. Its like I've been saying since he was hired; A good, disciplined defense can defeat his offense. Did you see the LSU game?

AU's offense has the potential to clobber Alabama. However, they have the potential to totally shit their pants as well. The offense hasn't shown me enough that I'm worried. I think Alabama will win. It won't be anything like last IB, but we will win. I know you have this little mancrush on Gus, but if you set that aside for a moment, his offense isn't super scary. I worry a little about any team that has two weeks to prepare for us. Any team should.

Exactly.  Every team you have faced is better than us.  UTC Moccasins Terrell Owens School University had a better offense than us.

Alabama is giving up 9.1 points a game.  I bet Saban isn't happy with that.  He'll want negative points this time.

Alabama 52 to Auburn -13.

For negative 13 points allbarn will have to go for 2 and double down and of course not get it.
