Community Service Programs of West Alabama drew hundreds of people to its office in Tuscaloosa this morning as it offered people the chance to sign up for appoints for power bill assistance, the Tuscaloosa News reports.

People reported being in line as early as 3 a.m. The crowd grew so large and restive that Tuscaloosa police were called to maintain control, according to the newspaper.
