Great show, Decent set list.
Not nearly as good as AC/DC last Friday.
-
Interesting crowd demographics. Bunch of folks in their late 30's to mid 40's, lots of kids. Almost no twentysomethings.
-
Paul kept comparing the Atlanta audience to Birmingham. A lot.
When they were in Birmingham, did they do the same with Sunrise, Fl ?
-
Last 2 decent photos. Too drunk on $10 tequilla shots after these.
-
thanks for sharing.
i saw the setlist. it looks like you got one more song and a bit of a change from the show kaos attended.
3 weeks before i see them.
fucking ac/dc didn't come to pdx.

No...they actually kept encouraging us to be louder so that they could tell Atlanta we were better. I guess that didn't work out so well for us, huh?
By the way, I hate all of you with your good seats and stuff. My pictures were all so damn blurry I couldn't tell who was in any of them...my seats were a good bit back, but well worth the price of admission.
A couple of examples...

I find this hard to believe.
I've seen AC/DC. It's an excellent concert. Not on the same level as KISS.
I saw them in 1988 or so when they were touring with White Lion. At the BJCC. Was on the floor. Punched the fuck out of some guy who kept dancing like a retard and hitting people with his elbows.
Toward the end of the concert I look up and realize there are cannons positioned above my head. Not sure if they were there all the time or if they were lowered down for "For Those About to Rock"
First time the cannon went off in that song, I nearly shit myself. The sound waves from the cannon collapsed my entire body from the top down. I guess they fired the things like 140 times in that song. Couldn't really tell you if the rest of the concert was good because after the cannon blasts all I could hear was a high pitched "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'
I couldn't hear shit for three or four days after that.

I would expect this statement for anything short of Jesus descending from the heavens...and even then we would probably get, "Gene could have done it better"...

If you only could have seen Gene ascending to the heavens rafters at teh BJCC, you would understand.

Just different. I enjoy a KISS concert because it is a spectacle.
AC/DC is good. Louder probably and plenty going on but it's not the "extravaganza" KISS is. The catalog of music is probably better overall. More people probably know Givin the Dog a Bone than do Black Diamond so there's that, too.
I've been to concerts by bad bands that I enjoyed a hell of a lot more than ones by good bands because of the effort involved.
I love The Eagles. Went to the Hell Freezes Over tour. What the fuck was that, really? They played Hotel California way early, maybe second song. They just sat there on the stage on stools and played through about 20 songs or so. Everybody in the audience, sitting. I hated that. Love the music, but will never waste a franklin on that again. I can just listen to the CD in the car and watch homeless people sit around.
AC/DC just sort of stood around (except for Angus).

Aren't they older than Moses?

Isn't KISS?
Paul's had hip replacement surgery. Gene turned 60 last month.
Shit still blew up. Gene still "flew" 60 feet to the rafters. Paul still rode the cable over the audience to the back of the auditorium.
AC/DC stood around back in 1988. It's nothing new.

Paul's hip prolly went out from shakin that ass too much. I swear, if I hadn't even heard the rumors, I would have thought he was ghey...not that there's anything wrong with that.
