Walking around the plant today, I decided to conduct a quick survey. I asked the bammers we have employed on the line if they knew the words to "Yea Alabama". No one, not even one, could do it.
I told them they suck and to get back to work.

What about the Auburn fans? For the record, a few of us did this at my last place of employment. While I admit that more Auburn fans knew their song, it was still a ridiculously low amount of people on both sides.

Ummmm yeah so, my hand to God, an Auburn fan at work (wearing an Auburn hat) looked to me (wearing an Alabama hat) and said "Dude, I really think Auburn's on the right track. I like where our team's headed. We've had to struggle a bit but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think we're getting back to being a program that is respected and I wouldn't doubt it if we give Alabama a run for their damn money this year. I think we can beat ya'll."
I said " I hear you, brother. There's a lot of people working hard to improve Auburn's program and it's starting to pay off. Tell me, what do you think of Gene Chizik? Were you upset with the hire at first?
He said... "who?"
Moral of the story, this is an EVERY fan base thing. Some people are able to support a team without being even mildly obsessed with them. I can not. I do things 100%. I can't help it. Some people are able to like a team and that's it. Doesn't mean they're bad fans, they're just not interested (obsessed) like you and I.

LMAO... ouch.
Hey, your prediction is generous for AU. Thanks for the boost!

Do you work at a camp for special needs children?
Seriously, this tard aside, I can pretty much guarantee you that a vastly larger percentage of Auburn fans know the school's fight song word for word than do Alabama fans.
It's science.

I agree with this, but the Alabama fanbase is also considerably larger. That's not a knock against Auburn, Bama just has more bandwagon fans.

Similar to the Dallas Cowboys and NY Yankees.

Agreed. And question: I've been hearing a lot of Roll Titties Roll from that illustrious fan base....wtf does that MEAN? I mean I think I get the general idea...but do you really want them to ROLL? I always thought they should stay in place....

Roll? That's almost as bad as "should stay in place". Everyone knows the best titty is a bouncing titty.

I'm not sure you understand the way percentages enhance comparison of dissimilar sample sizes.

Team A has 100 fans.
Team B has 300 fans.
Team A has 80 fans who know the fight song.
Team B has 80 fans who know the fight song.
Team A= 80%
Team B= 27%

I was thinking this exact thing, but let it slide.

Jesus, are we in the offseason again?

Not that it matters, or this is based on any kind of scientific data or anything...
But shouldn't Team B have more fans that know the fight song than team A if there's three times as many of them?
As you said "Team B" has way more bandwagon fans. I get that. But that's partially the basis behind the dig. This speaks to the negative generalities that are associated with your program. The mullet-heads that claim to be bama fans, yet couldn't find Tuscaloosa on a map or know more than the first four words of your fight song.

Yeah.
Swimming and diving season isn't here yet.

I do not deny the negative generalities that are associated with the Alabama fan base.

Fuggit. Go with what you know, bammer. I don't have the patience for this today.

Always interesting to me to see who has the bad words filter on.

Good choice, as I refuse to reason with any logic that effectively nullifies my stance.

I leave it on for two reasons. One is work. Some of the poop that is said on this board is bad (as in it's not something I want my boss to see). That is why I love this place. Two, sometimes it makes it funnier, I don't know why, it just does.

Since I conducted the comparison study, let me break it down for you.
Team A (Auburn) had 10 fans, 9 of whom knew the fight song. Sample 10 was a chick that was wearing an Auburn sweatshirt simply because she was cold - said she had no dog in the fight. She's what is referred to as an outlier.
Team A = 90%.
Team B (bammer) had 15 fans, none of whom knew their fight song. Each person in this sample group admitted to being lifelong, diehard fans.
Team B = 0%
*Even after being supplied with the opening words of the song (Yea Alabama), none could correctly fill in the blank. Roughly 1/3 responded with "roll tahd" while the remaining 2/3 stood there with a dullard look on their face.
Shameful.

The alternative is a 10 page thread that would end up covering everything from hammers falling all the way down to the series record over the last 25 years.
This way is much easier.
