Since we had such good participation last week, I thought we should do this as a weekly poll. Each person gets to vote for what you think the 3 most likely upsets this week.

:bowl:
-
I picked Mich. State, Vandy, and UGA

That would be the same Cal bears that just got throttled by Oregon?
-
Cal got caught looking ahead. bama needs to be careful this weekend, early game, looking to ole miss (doubt it will happen though)

Yes, the same Cal team that I predicted to lose to Oregon.
-
I said Brown

Vandy has been Nutt's albatross for a while. I think he beats them this week. I hope he wins until both of us get a shot at him.
I picked GA over LSU, too.

Ole Miss could be on a 20 game win streak and Alabama wouldn't respect them enough to "look ahead" to a game with them.
I kinda feel like there are three teams, Florida, Texas, and Alabama, and then about 25 others that fall somewhere behind them in no particular order. I mean, is there any such thing as an "upset" anymore? If they happen as often as they don't, "upset" doesn't even really apply anymore.

Bite your tongue, jadennis.
I think lsu goes down to the dawgs this week....georgia is starting to look more like the team the pollsters thought they would be....and lsu's luck has to fucking run out some time. I'm sorry we don't get them earlier.

I know, I know, but I'm trying not to be a blind Bama-like fan and pretend I don't see what I see. I've watched those three teams play several times each, and I've seen every team in the top 25 play except for TCU and Kansas. To me, those three have separated themselves a little (not a ton).
The scary part is that any one of the 15 overrated teams in the polls could also pull it together and become a legit top 10 team at any time. I remember last year Florida didn't look all that great against Miami, Tennessee, Ole Miss (obviously), and even Arkansas to start the year. But then all of the sudden they averaged 54 points per game in their last 7 regular season games (never scoring less than 42).

You know what though, timing has a ton to do with it. I am not taking anything away from bama's win over VT but VT looked like a different team against Miami. Miami could be a total pretender or VT might just have needed to hit its stride, we'll never know, but timing and when games are played mean everything. I will say this, minus our depth, I will put our team right now up against any in the nation...from what I've witnessed.

True that. Question will Auburn be on this poll come week 7?
-
I took UGA, Miss St and Cal. We will see come Saturday.
-
I took Miami over Oklahoma, MSU over GIT and Kentucky over SPuat

So true. Had Ole Miss played Florida in week 10 last year, they would have been Tebow'ed by 20 pts.
Or how Georgia was playing at the end of 2006.
Or Auburn at the end of 2005.
Or Arkansas losing by 500 points to USC early in the year in 2006, then winning the SEC west.
And I agree, starters vs starters, I like our chances with anyone. Our defense concerns me, but I'm less concerned than I was a few days ago. Our coaches have basically conceded that they didn't care one tiny rats ass how many points Ball State scored once we had a decent lead.
They played anyone and everyone, including scout team players that had never even seen BSU's scheme or plays. It's one thing to have a sub in with the starters, it's another thing entirely to have all subs and scout team. I think holding West Virginia to 9 points in the final three quarters shows something about what our defense is capable of. If we keep forcing turnovers, we'll be alright I think.

The whole point of the scout team(defense) is to emulate the opposing teams defense for that week. Just an FYI.

Thanks, but our scout team defense doesn't play against their defense...they play against the other teams offense.

My point was that the scout team had seen the schemes and plays, you weren't specific as to which one though.
-

Actually, our scout team defense is responsible for playing the schemes of the other defense and plays against OUR offense. Therefore they do not get to see the opposing teams offense during practice.
-
My bad for being unclear. What I meant is that our scout defense practices against our offense. But when they go into the actual game, they are playing against the other teams offense, which is something they hadn't been prepared for or studying, so its no wonder they are a bit lost.

But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

Never enter a land war in China, and only slightly less known is....never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
