Inflated rankings. Early season rankings don't mean shit. This is according to Pell City Tiger, anyways.
Seriously though, you can't argue with AU's success on offense right now. I mean, you fuckers are pretty much scoring at will and are cutting through teams like a buzzsaw. True enough, AU has played some pretty shitty teams so far. However, they could have just as well floundered or struggled such as last season. So far I'm eating some of my words from the pre-season as well. I'm impressed, but I think a good test will be coming up this weekend. AU has proven they can smash teams at home that they are supposed to smash. Lets see what happens against a good SEC defense on the road. If AU smashes UT this weekend, I will be pretty fucking impressed. Not that it matters what I think, but my .02 nonetheless.

Wait a second....Auburn wasn't supposed to "smash" LaTech, remember one of your dumbass bammers Charles Hollis, he actually predicted a loss. Auburn wasn't supposed to "smash" UWV, remember one of your dumbass bammers Charles Hollis, "Sorry Auburn another loss is coming".

Go bitch about it to Charles Hollis. I'm not him. Alot of our dumbass fans say alot of dumbass things. Doesn't make them true.
Defense may be a bit of concern though. I was pretty shocked that Ball State scored 30 points.

A lot of your dumbass fans are certified journalists that write for the Birmingham News.

Yes, it was 30 points but 7 of those go straight to a freshman dumb ass mistake and another 7 goes to 2nd and 3rd team defense. So then of those 16 points, there were some things that concerned me. There is def. some things that the Auburn D needs to tighten up on.

There were two scores on the second and third string unit in the second half. Your point stands, but there was rarely a starter on the field on defense past the middle of the third quarter. The starting unit came out one time and stopped a drive mid fourth to stop some of the momentum that B. State had gained on the freshman.

I will concede this to those that seem to be more in tune with what happened in this case, but the arm tackling and outright misses have been troubling in past weeks. We will see this week if theses problems have truly been corrected.

Absolutely. Agree completely. A lot of the people are down the on the defense, but really, Ball State didn't score the TD that gave them 17 until mid 3rd quarter (when some scrubs were starting to come in). That means that outside of the TD given up after the punt turnover inside the 20 (20 pts in the last qtr and a half), the first unit only gave up a field goal the first half.
The arm tackling STILL however....was shit. Let's hope it gets better.

Yep, I agree with you guys. Im not trying to imply the D is not good, I love our D, but the arm tackling is was has been hurting us. This is were, besides some penalties, the opponent has been able to keep drives alive. I will say this too, I have def. seen some heading knocking pops given my our D, especially Bates. If they can shore up this tackling issue, the Vols will have problems this weekend. They depend so much on the run game that if we have arm tackling, they will have big gains. If we can shut that off, then Crompton will be punished all night.

By the way, I've heard Auburn is third elsewhere, but I don't know where that's coming from.
We're #1 according to ESPN. Who's right?

We're #1 in Total Yards (tied with Florida), but we're #3 in Yards per Game and Points per Game.

You're welcome.
