That's horseshit.
3-0 with wins over SEC and Big East opponents and we can't crack the top 25?

Yet Washington gets in the Top 25...
WTF is that horse shit. I know that they beat USC...but come on. They lost 15 straight god damn games for christ sake, and now they are Top 25? Pure bull shit...

We need to schedule a bunch of shit-tastic Noth Texas's. The pollsters respect beatdowns of high school teams.

Not to mention that they lost to LSU, and then got a win over some glorified cupcake.

Or maybe a few ranked teams.

North Texas and FIU? Maybe we should trail FIU in the second quarter to show how tough we are.

You're right. We haven't already beat a team ranked in the top 10.
And we didn't give up 300 yards passing to West Virginia. We are not worthy of being ranked.

Alright then poll experts. Where should Bama be ranked?

Alright then poll experts. Where should Bama be ranked?
Not saying they shouldn't be top 10... They had 12 wins last year, but touting your top ten win versus VA Tech and follow up wins versus Mighty FIU and a wretched North Texas team? I'd say, as Bama fans have been screaming at us... Win a few SEC games first...
Now, Ole Miss at #4...Pffftt... Washington crashing the Top 25??? *facepalmllorcoastercoptor*
At least now we have a win in the SEC (better than FIU/N. Texas) and a win over a good WVU (the same if not BETTER than VA Tech)... I'm feeling okay with where we stand right now.
-
WVU +17 > Va Tech

Me touting a top 10 win against VT isn't any more ridiculous than suggesting that Bama is respected by the pollsters because we kicked the shit out of North Texas. That was my point, and it still stands.

We shall see. VA Tech certainly hasn't looked like a "far cry better" by any stretch. That's for sure.

Sooooo......
WVU struggles with Liberty, and ECU, and for the most part looks like ass for 3 quarters against AU.
Va Tech loses to Alabama, beats the piss out of Marshall, and then pulls of some gusty play against #19 Nebraska for the win.
Its debatable, but I don't know if its quite equal. Possibly splitting hairs.
-
Gutsy play...
Whatever...

Auburn had nothing at all to do with that, right?
Dipshit. Go bag some fucking groceries.

Nebraska. The only team in NCAA D1 other than Duke who hasn't beaten a ranked team on the road in 20 something years.
Super fucking impressive, that win was.
Marshall doesn't even have a football team. I watched that movie. Shame on you for celebrating a win over those guys. Regular students pulled out of the stands.
Having seen both play? I'd take WVU over VT eight out of ten times.

Based on what? Piling up 500 yards of offense against a shitty defense?

No. Athleticism. That Brown kid has unimited potential. Devine would be hard for anybody to bring down. They've got some real weapons.
In fact, I think there's as much raw talent there as anywhere. I just think their coach is vastly overrated. You give somebody else that kind of talent and you're looking at a juggernaut.
Man for man, that team was better than Auburn at almost every position.
I don't think that mummified guy they have coaching can get the most out of it, though.

West Virginia has talent, and speed, but I still believe a team with a physical defense and physical running game will beat them almost every time.
I have the same thoughts about this Auburn team. Sure, they are a LOT better on offense than I expected, but when a team can successfully keep pressure on Todd for the better part of the night, I don't think he can handle it. As for the defense, they were completely gassed last night. They still fought hard. I believe they'll respond differently when they are worn down by a physical team instead of a finesse team.
After watching how physical Tennessee was against the mighty Tebows yesterday, I now think that will be a damn good game.

Hard to say if they have more athletes overall. Easily at the QB position. The guy is a super athlete but isn't any more accurate than Todd with his throws. One thing I think this year is showing us is that we did actually have more athletes last year than first thought but for all the 70 kwazillion reasons rehashed ad nauseum about the clusterfuck that was 08', they never got a chance to show what they could do. I'm in total agreement that you give that team some real corching, they'd be tough to beat by anyone in the country.
-

I've said all along Auburn loses that game because Monte Kiffin will shackle Malzahn this time. Nothing so far to change that opinion.
Crompton is horrible. Florida gifted ten points or they really only score three. As unsteady as our defense is, I still don't think Tennessee can score a lot. If Auburn holds them under 20, that changes the dynamic.
WVU a finesse team? No. They weren't three yard and a cloud of dust mashers, but they were hardly finesse.
-

I agree here. WVU was hardly a finesse team. They got open in space, and as for all the tackles we missed, they broke. They ran hard, and played very physical.

Gutsy play...
Whatever...
Not that I am defending that bammer loser but you should Google Congresswoman Corrine Brown and Gators...
They was some gusty play...
-
No...that would be gusty play...
The bama fuck was just being a homer...

Kinda like what UWV did last night, with Todd responding with close to 300 yards passing and 4 TDs with only 1 Int?

How many times was Todd sacked last night? Once? If you honestly believe West Virginia kept constant pressure on Todd last night, we definitely have differing opinions on what quarterback pressure is.
-
How many sacks did bammer have against North Texas School for the Blind and Crippled? None, you say? Wow! Your defensive line sucks.
-
Don't play with the matches, strawman. You'll likely catch fire.
-
Not even 1 sack. Pathetic.
Mean Green! Bwaaaa haa haa haa

Couldn't get to him. Not for lack of trying.

Which is my point. WVU didn't pressure Todd.
-
I didn't realize that was the first sack this year...according to the radio broadcast. I don't care who you're playing, that's a much improved line over years past. As it turns out MSU may have a little better D than we thought after the Auburn game. They held Vandy without a 1st down for a long time in that game and pretty much beat the Dores' up.

Where has all this respect for the smart kids come from? They have a couple of decent years for them and now they are a measuring stick?

When posting a YouTube video on this site, you only need to post the actual http:// address.... only.
The site's software recognizes it, and posts the video for you. If you go back and modify your post, and strip off everything but the page's address...you should be fine.

Those fucking 'Dores could have posted that shit right.

Great Video and movie!

I just want to point out that there are TEN teams in the Top 25 with a loss, and we have raped all of our opponents, beaten the spread in every case, obliterated it in most, and we're four spots out of the Top 25? We beat an SEC team (that has beaten another SEC team), and a Big East team who announcers last night kept saying were going to win their conference championship, no doubt.
Are you shitting me? I'm not looking to sit at #4 to be as overrated as bammer, but come the fuck on. Not even posing a threat to crack the poll?
I feel like the polls are some Hidden Camera show designed to piss me off and gauge my reaction...

It's a pretty unique situation though on the teams with losses.
Of the ten, 6 of them were in the top 10 when they lost, so, as expected, they aren't going to fall all the way out of the top 25.
The other four teams with a loss, have relatively quality losses, having lost to either a solid ranked team, or on the road, or both.
FSU lost a close one to #9 Miami.
Georgia lost on the road to #16 Oklahoma State (who lost to #17 Houston).
Washington lost respectably to #7 LSU and beat #12 USC.
Nebraska lost on the road in the last minute to #11 Virginia Tech.
As mentioned, everyone else lost while in the Top 10.
We're only three games in, it's going to take a little time to see exactly who is who. I'll feel like we really deserve it if we're 6-1 going into Red Stick. After watching the Tennessee defense and the Arkansas offense, we're going to have our hands full with both teams on the road.
Once we see what we've got after those games, then I'll feel like we're in position to start talking about rankings. We don't want to get too excited after being 4-0 and then see we're 4-2 two weeks later.

If we're 6 and fucking 1, in the SEC, and still unranked, I will torture someone.
We are more deserving of a spot RIGHT NOW than at least 7 of those teams...

Damn you and your "logic" we should be ranked #1!

There is a difference between "didn't" and "unable to"
That's all I'm saying.

To elaborate...
If we're not getting enough respect to garner a number 25 spot right now...what makes you think if we go, say, 10-2, and should be in the Sugar Bowl spot, that we are ranked high enough to get it?
What if, God forbid, we run the table. What makes you think we won't be more likely to be left holding the bag AGAIN than we were in 04? We've got to at least get on the map, is all I'm saying...

Anything is possible, but we're just 3-0 right now and haven't come up to our true "opportunity" games yet. Remember, West Virginia wasn't ranked, so it's not like we've even had a huge "statement" game yet. We continue to win, and continue to gain respect (notice we're at least getting the "watch out for Auburn" acknowledgment).
As time goes on, if we're 10-2, that will mean we beat some highly ranked teams. As of right now, we have three Top 10 teams left on our schedule, plus Georgia. We just haven't gotten to our opportunities yet.
Most everyone is still waiting for the meat of their schedule. There is no way for everyone to keep winning. Kansas is #20, they still have Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Texas, and Missouri.
North Carolina still has Georgia Tech, FSU, Virginia Tech, and Miami.
Michigan still has @ MSU, @ Iowa, Penn State, and Ohio State.
Washington could easily lose this week at Stanford, or @ Notre Dame, Oregon, @ UCLA, or to #6 Cal. Nebraska is barely hanging on now, and has @ MIssouri, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Kansas coming.
Point is, just as our opportunities to win and move are still to come, a lot of teams opportunities to lose and drop out are still to come. If we're 6-1 after 7 games, we will be in the top 20, not just the top 25 (I guess #19 or so). If we then go into LSU and win, that will be our first "jump" game, probably moving us up into the top 15, maybe #12 or 13.
We just have to be patient and wait for those chances to make some noise. At this point we're a previously 5-7 team who has started well at 3-0, that's all.
And, we also have to realize that is just may not be for us this year. We may take one step forward and two steps back all year and end up 7-5...there's a long way to go.
