It should be noted that FIU is currently ranked 120th out of 120 D1 teams.

Settle down Beevis. Chiz is just pulling your chain.  Athlon had FIU a solid 112th going into the season.

Against a team that is a hell of a lot better than FIU, and that your team is 0-2 against.   :fu:

Well, we did play alot of backups, didn't have our primary WR or RB, and didn't even throw a pass after the 3rd quarter. I'll take 40-14. However, I think our team is having an issue pacing themselves. The coaches have put a big emphasis on finishing games, and not losing it in the 4th quarter such as we did in the SECCG. So now, our guys play halfass for most of the game, then turn into worldbeaters in the 4th quarter. That shit will get us beat down the road. They're trying to leave enough gas in the tank to still be effective in the 4th, but they're not doing all that great of a job doing it, relative to their performance in the first three quarters.

One thing I am glad to see is I really think our QB question is answered. McElroy did well against VT, and he would have had a 100% completion ratio at halftime against FIU had Julio not dropped one in the endzone. Total game, he was 18/24 241 yards 1TD with a 10 yard average, and that was throwing to true freshmen and backup receivers. Trent Richardson (3rd string) had 15 carries for 118 yards and 2 TD, and Terry Grant (4th string) had 6 carries for 69 yards and 1 TD. We racked up 516 total yards and 26 first downs. I will take it, but there is still some shit that needs to be fixed, ESPECIALLY on special teams. Two KO returns for TDs in two games in a row is unacceptable. Marquis Johnson and Kareem Jackson HAVE to get their heads out of their asses in the secondary, or we need to find some guys to replace them in the dime package.

Did the Who-lio get hurt last night?  Hadn't heard anything one way or the other.

He has a bruised knee, and except for the first drive, sat out the entire game. With the injuries he played through last season, I'm sure he could have came back. I doubt the coaches wanted to burn him out, though. Other than that, I think is ankle is still nagging him from fall camp. He says its fine, but I really think there is an issue there. Too much getting up at 5am and running routes by himself every day. He needs to give that shit a rest so he is good when we get into our SEC schedule.

Also, multiple players have had the flu/flu-like symptoms recently and that has changed things up some. I will be glad when that shit is done going around.

What an inspiration he must be to his teammates.  Star witness, helper of handicapped fisherman and a work ethic that just won't stop.

Fuck Tebow, Julio is the new Baby Jesus.

Don't kid yourself, if AU receivers were doing it, you guys would be jerking each other off furiously while screaming The Creed.

Are they??  Let me know, cause I'm feeling kind of lonely and feeling like if I could just go to a bammer board, talk about it and jerk off, I'd feel better.

Birmingham, as one of your classless brethren over at TS posted to me at the start of last season,

I am not interested in your opinion or what you think of my team. Now scram.

How many times do I have to tell you, assdouche.  This isn't a bammer board, it's the X.  You obviously have a lot of hurt feelings from forums past because you think they're relevant to talk about when trying to validate yourself on this one.  You're on the X, not Tidesports.  Deal with this shit, assdouche.

phuk Saban.

Go phuk your relatives.

phuking Bammer.

This is much more relevant than referencing something that happened on another forum.  'bout fucking time you learned.

By the way, what the phuk is up with Bama's special teams? They are special alright. :puke:

What do you mean what's up?  They like how the crowd cheers when long touchdowns are scored.

Is the Bryant Bank hurting like Colonial or something? I figured the shoddy ST play was a ploy to move some cash on the betting lines. Benny Silman anyone?
At least come up with something amusing so we can all share a laugh.

The plagiarizing of material from greasy and Kaos was bad enough in the beginning, but now the feeble attempts at smack talk are just sad really.

Big package of bullshit justification.

You should work for the president.  That way when he says "My health care package will only kill old people who are useless anyway, didn't any of you see Logan's Run?"  you can rush in with a 50 page dissertation and throw up so much obfuscatory spin that it will look like he just personally saved a grandmother from a runaway train by meting the tracks with his laser eyes.

RWS been calling out other people on the board and getting agreeance, too.  What does that mean? Is his outcalling only valuable in certain instances?  Because he's been dead on with some of his other call outishness.  Dead on.

You and I both know that only Nick Saban himself is capable of such a feat.

Seriously though, we do have some issues. We looked like shit in the first half. There is a halfassed valid reason why we played like shit in the first half, and then there is the other half of that halfassed reason. We did play alot of backups and some freshmen, and I think they didn't really come into the game with the right attitude as well. If you think playing all of the backups, etc that we did has ZERO effect on the game, then thats an issue in itself. La Tech gave AU fits in the first half of the first game, and that was with 8 months to prepare and all the starters in. Don't act like it can't ever ever happen. I understand that La Tech is better competition than FIU, but in both cases, it never should have been that close at halftime no matter how you slice it. The ends justified the means. For the second game in a row, we came up with over 500 yards of offense without some elite uber cool offensive guru scheme. The only problem there is if we pull that waltz through the first half bullshit against a better opponent, we won't come out of it with a win.
