Title: Ole Miss vs. Memphis
Post by: RWS on September 06, 2009, 04:47:31 PM
Ole Miss is not looking very impressive at all. They lead 10-7 halfway through the second quarter, but geez. Snead cannot hit the broad side of a barn. Ole Miss came out looking fast and crisp but now they are pretty flat.

Ole Miss looks LOOOOSSSSSSTTTTTT  ....and Snead may settle down, but he's sucking monkey nuts right now.

Snead looks like Daniel Cobb. Just threw another pick.

Ole Miss...Pick 6....Now up by 10 going into the half.   I'm sure that this will only be a "character" building game for a deserving top 10 team if they win this.   Who knows, they could pull away by 30 in the second half, but they look pretty weak assed to me.

Well, Mark May (I think it was) just said that BYU could make it to the MNC game.

I was impressed by Ole Miss during the first series, the defense was coming off the line superquick, the offense got a first down almost every carry...and then I don't know what the hell happened. Snead got rattled by that first pick and hasn't been able to recover....they aren't even playing like a #18 team much less #8.

I swear on all I hold holy! If these announcer faggorts don't quit sucking Sam Bradford's dick, I'm going to strangle a fucking 2 week old puppy with my bare hands.

The most undeserving Heisman winner ever.

Snead is looking like he'd be 2nd string at South Carolina right now.

I don't think Spurrier would even let him hold a clipboard at this point.

By the way, did anyone else notice who #4 is for Memphis that made an interception earlier?

Boots wit da Furrrrrrrr! I think they actually have 6-7 starters that are transfers from schools like AU, aTm, Wisconsin, etc.

TD Rebs, up 38-14. Game over (with 3:45 to go).

I still think Snead and the Rebels are not going to live up to expectations this season. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

Aburn > Ole Miss

Especially after this...maybe.  They are really lucky that it's their bye week.  They are having some serious trouble with the Piggie Flu.

Ole Miss TB McCluster hospitalized because of flu
By CHRIS TALBOTT
Associated Press Writer

JACKSON, Miss. (AP)—Mississippi running back Dexter McCluster spent Tuesday night in the hospital because of flu symptoms and nearly two dozen other Rebels players missed practice Wednesday as the virus continued to sweep though the team.

McCluster, a versatile star for the sixth-ranked Rebels, was released Wednesday morning but did not attend the afternoon practice. So many were out coaches moved practice up and shortened it. Still, they were shuffling the lineup all day.

“Boy, it’s tough,” Ole Miss offensive coordinator Kent Austin said. “We lost another quarterback today, too, so we’re down to Nathan Stanley and Clayton Moore. About half our receiving corps is out, half our starting line.”

As many as 22 players—or about 20 percent of the team—are in some stage of the flu. The list includes starting quarterback Jevan Snead, McCluster and several other starters.

Officials believe it is the swine flu and are following U.S. Centers for Disease Control guidelines that include isolating ill players from other members of the team and public. The flu also has swept through other athletic teams and the general student population with nearly 400 reporting flu-like symptoms to campus health officials through Wednesday.

The Rebels have an open date this week before playing Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 19.

Snead and McCluster are two of the nation’s premier offensive players. Snead, a junior, is considered an outside contender for the Heisman Trophy.

McCluster plays wide receiver and tailback and lines up at quarterback in the team’s Wild Rebel formation. He opened the season in a 45-14 win over Memphis on Sunday with 65 yards receiving, 50 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Austin said the situation isn’t as dire for the Rebels as it is for other teams with a game to play Saturday.

“It’s an opportunity to get the young kids a lot of reps,” he said. “From that standpoint it’s a positive. And the other good news is it’s happening in a bye week. I’d hate the think if we were playing this week.”
