I do believe I've heard that Walt McFadden has picked up the leadership role on defense.  I hear Ziemba spearheading the O-Line.  Josh Bynes seems to be more of a leader than he gets "in print" credit for as well.

Ben Tate seems to be an offensive leader as evidenced by him always being the "go to" guy by Auburn beat writers.

I think it may be a little early.  I believe the more "vocal" leaders, and true leaders will show themselves as the season progresses to the good, or the bad.

Yeah, but who gets in the long snappers ears when the going gets tough?  Someone has to fire that group up now that Dax has left the building.

Not sure yet.  On the surface I think you could argue Ben Tate and a few others but the true leaders really come out after a loss and a lot of the time are not one in the same in my limited experience.

Word on the skreets is that Chris Todd has quickly become a vocal leader on the practice field.  TIFWIW.

In the articles I've read on Darren Bates and others, they really point to McFadden as being the guy they turn to for help and pointers about play in the secondary.  Sounded like McNeil has been doing all he can vocally as well from the sidelines.
