Apparent murder/suicide from early reports.
-
Absolutely horrible. I haven't heard murder suicide. Who are they saying was the initiator of said murder/suicide? Steve or the woman? I understand that the chances of it being the woman are slim, not that it would make it any better if it was.
-
The report didn't say. Got an email from a friend of mine in Nashville. He said the local news guy reported it as such.
-
Espn's reporting it's a double homicide? Terrible either way.
-
Just read a definitive statement that McNair had "multiple gun shot wounds". If it was indeed a murder/suicide than McNair was the victim of the former.
It seems to me to be a double homicide but that's coming from someone with absolutely no access to any information about what happened. I'm sure we'll know shortly. Feel awful for his wife and kids.
-
So, Mcnair had multiple gunshot wounds and the girl had one gunshot wound? Murder/suicide sounds about right.

I just saw that report as well, the friend that found the bodies called another friend instead of the police? Sounds fishy?

There's more to the story.....
UPDATE: The TENNESSEAN has quotes from Kazemi’s former boyfriend that indicate she first met McNair while working at a local Dave & Buster’s - and that McNair was deceiving her into thinking they were “together“.

(Photo of Sahel Kazemi, 20-year-old woman found dead with McNair)
Don’t forget about the NASHVILLE POST’s report that McNair apparently had his life threatened the morning of the murder. The Post is also now reporting that McNair was in the vehicle when Kazemi was charged with DUI two days ago, and that she was “high” and not drunk.
UPDATE: The TENNESSEAN reports Sahel Kazemi was indeed the woman found dead with McNair.
UPDATE: Bizarre news from the NASVHILLE POST, which reports:
According sources, a white woman in her early 20s, around 5-foot-4, approached McNair at the restaurant and accused him of slipping her a “roofie” a year ago.
The woman then told McNair, according to sources, that her boyfriend was going to kill him. Multiple sources have confirmed that this information has been shared with the Metro Police Department. Metro Police has yet to identify the dead woman, but is it unknown if the woman at the restaurant is the same woman found in the condo.
The NASHVILLE TENNESSEAN reported earlier today that a 20-year-old woman was charged with DUI two days ago in an Escalade registered to Steve McNair. The woman, Sahel Kazemi, was identified as 20 years old. (Kazemi is now confirmed as the second deceased victim found with McNair.)

The above photo is from a Nashville-based Myspace account under the same Sahel Kazemi. After the jump is another photo, from Facebook.
Also interesting to note that the wife of McNair, Mechelle, told police today that she hadn’t seen her husband in two days.
The couple’s home is about ten miles from the scene of the double homicide.

Also, the police have stated that Steve McNair had multiple gunshot wounds with one in the head, and that the woman (Sahel Kazemi) had one gunshot wound to the head and that they found the pistol beside her body.

My uneducated guess...
McNair meets girl, McNair has fling with girl, McNair tells girl he is going back to family, Girl shoots McNair, Girl shoots herself

It's quite elementary.
My wife is a huge Titans fan. Does this mean that her McNair jersey just became more valuable?

Ok. Now we can close the dead pool.
-
It's easy to find them when they are dead. DUH, they can't run away.

We were talking about this story this morning.
You're Steve "Air" McNair. You're rich out of your mind, and you're probably headed to the NFL HOF. You have a wife of 12 years and four young boys. You're a role model and well respected in the city of Nashville where you reside. You more than likely can land any TV/Radio gig that you want.
Do you:
A) Continue being an upstanding citizen and raise your wonderful family while continuing to make money with cool football jobs?
B) Decide you haven't partied enough and use your status to bang super hot broads all over the world. I'm not talking 8's and 9's, I'm talking 10's.
...or...
C) Pick up the 6 at Dave & Buster's and buy her things until she kills you.
This is a weird story and shows the true fucked up nature of the human being.

Here's something interesting....
Steve McNair's girlfriend's ex-boyfriend's rap lyrics:
Posted on Nashville City Paper:
(Chorus)
"I don’t wanna be like this
I don’t really wanna hurt no feelings
But I’m only being real when I say
Nobody wanna see an old man collapse
And old men have heart attacks
I don’t wanna be responsible for that
So let the s**t go and walk away
You can still have a little bit of dignity"
(Lyrics)
“I would never claim to be no
Benjamin Tebow, an 83-Year old fake Pacino
So how could he run his mouth about me
Knowing nothing about me
I love it when a dumbass doubts me
Until I pull the pistol out proudly
Put the clip in his mouth
Til this motherf***er shouts, ‘please don’t kill’
Have you sippin through a straw for the next 8 months
That’s if you even make it through it alive you dumb f**k
Try to stunt and front and fronting in front of somebody else
Til you're surrounded by 20 people With nobody’s help
IF you try to go incredible hulk it won’t work
Put so many holes in you your nerves won’t even jerk
Lurking in the shadows thinking and scheming of work
Got a little cocky so you decided to flirt
Now you’re flirting with death"
The final verse in the song set to Eminem's "Nail in the Coffin" instrumental track is as follows;
"If you ever do it again b***h I’m not rapping
I’m getting a clip and clapping and I’m not laughing
They’re wrapping you up for your little trip to the morgue
While I’m preparing for my trip to the shore,
Don’t ignore me, I’m not lying, I couldn’t be more honest
If you ever do it again, you’ll die, I promise.”

His name is Keith Norfleet, his rapper name is KaNe.
Here's a picture of him and a little more on the Nashville article....

“As far as Mr. Norfleet is concerned, we had to interview him based on his... prior relationship with Ms. Kazemi,” Aaron said Monday. “Obviously he had certain thoughts about her relationship with Steve McNair. We needed to find out what he knew, what she may have told him in the past as we tried to put the pieces together. As far as the word ‘suspect’ is concerned, we really haven’t used the word suspect since the weekend.”
Norfleet attended Orange Park High, located outside of Jacksonville, Fla., with Kazemi. He reportedly moved from the Jacksonville area to Nashville with Kazemi not long ago.
On the day that McNair and Kazemi's bodies were discovered, Norfleet admitted that he had been by the condo that very day and said that he had been looking for her.
According to posted Web profiles, Norfleet lives in the Antioch area and is an aspiring rapper who goes by the name KaNe.
He has a personal Web page on SoundClick.com where he refers to himself as “antiochs finest,” and has posted 31 rap mixes, some of which appear to refer to Norfleet and Kazemi’s relationship.
One of those rap mixes has content that seems to raise even more questions about Norfleet.
In a rap based on Eminem's "Benzino Dis," using lyrics rewritten by Norfleet (retitled “Closed Casket”) and posted on Feb. 2 — after McNair and Kazemi had started dating — the aspiring rapper lets loose with some rhymes that are chilling to say the least.
Also, the Antioch area of Nashville is known to be the rough part of town.

We've got some real detectives on this board.
Police: McNair shot dead in sleep by girlfriend
By LUCAS L. JOHNSON II, Associated Press Writer
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Former NFL star Steve McNair was shot dead in his sleep last week by a 20-year-old girlfriend distraught about mounting financial problems and her belief that he was seeing someone else, police said Wednesday.
Sahel Kazemi “was spinning out of control” when she shot McNair four times as he dozed on a sofa early Saturday, then turned the gun on herself, Police Chief Ronal Serpas said.
Interviews with friends revealed that she was making payments on two cars, her rent was doubling and she suspected the married McNair was having a second affair with another young woman, Serpas said.
Police earlier had labeled McNair’s death a homicide, but waited for further tests and the revelations about Kazemi’s personal problems before concluding that she pulled the trigger of a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol in a condominium McNair rented with a friend.
McNair, 36, a quarterback for the Tennessee Titans most of his career, met Kazemi six months ago at a sports cafe where she was a waitress and his family often ate. She seemed happy and eager to build a life with him, but something went wrong.
“We do know that she was clearly sending a message during the last five to seven days of her life that things were going bad quickly,” Serpas said, though there was no indication she told anyone she planned to harm McNair.
Serpas said detectives learned that Kazemi recently found out about another young woman she thought McNair was romantically involved with and had even followed that woman home, though she did not confront her.
Serpas said police believe McNair was asleep when he was killed because there were no defensive wounds. After shooting McNair in the head, Kazemi apparently shot him twice in the chest before shooting him again in the head.
Before shooting herself, she sat next to his body and “tried to stage it so she would fall in his lap,” Serpas said. She did, but her body slid to the floor and ended up at McNair’s feet. The gun was found underneath her.
Kazemi’s family told reporters that the woman was so confident McNair was divorcing his wife of 12 years that she was preparing to sell her furniture and move in with him.
But associate Mike Mu, who has worked with McNair’s charitable association for years, said earlier Wednesday that McNair’s wife, Mechelle McNair, “didn’t know who this girl is.” No records of divorce proceedings have surfaced. The McNairs have four children.
Two days before the shooting, police stopped Kazemi driving a Cadillac Escalade sport utility vehicle that McNair had given her for her birthday in May.
According to an arrest affidavit, Kazemi had bloodshot eyes and alcohol on her breath. She refused a breath test and told an officer “she was not drunk, she was high.” She was charged with DUI. McNair was with her but not charged. He later made her bail.
Police are awaiting toxicology reports on both bodies.
Serpas said that even though both her name and McNair’s were on the Cadillac’s title, she was apparently responsible for making payments. She was also making payments on another car after she couldn’t sell it.
Kazemi had no history of violence, but “on the last several days of her life it’s obvious that she made some very poor decisions,” Serpas said.
Mechelle McNair has not spoken publicly since the shooting. Bishop Joseph W. Walker III of Mount Zion Baptist Church, which the McNairs have attended since moving to Nashville in 1997, said Wednesday that she is doing as well as can be expected.
“Her faith is what’s sustaining her now,” he said. “We haven’t talked about the circumstances of his death. She is processing it in a private way. It’s obviously devastating on so many levels.”
A memorial service is set for Thursday night in Nashville, with the funeral Saturday in his native Mississippi.
The four-time Pro Bowl quarterback was being remembered Wednesday at the stadium where he played much of his career. The Tennessee Titans opened LP Field for fans to watch video highlights of McNair’s 13-year NFL career and look at photos of the quarterback. There was also a book for them to write messages that will be given to the family.
McNair was known as “Air McNair” for his passing prowess at Alcorn State in Mississippi. In 2000, he helped lead the Titans to the Super Bowl, where they ended up a yard short of a touchdown on the last play of the game when they trailed by seven points.
He spent the last two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before retiring from the NFL last year.
Associated Press Writers Travis Loller, Joe Edwards, Kristin M. Hall and Teresa M. Walker contributed to this report.
