Title: Damn, Hawgs...
Post by: Snaggletiger on June 21, 2009, 10:41:10 PM
So, I'm thumbing through my Lindy's and checking schedules and take a look at Arkansas...and holy schnikies!!!  I don't know anyone in the counrty with a longer, tougher stretch of games without a break.  Here's the deal. They start off with a warm up in Missouri State.  Then it goes:

Georgia

Alabama

Texas A & M

Auburn

Florida

Ole Miss

Now, if we take a look at Lindy's predictions, that means Arky plays 3 top 10 teams in that stretch along with their #17 Georgia.  Throw in the rivalry game with a (Hopefully) much improved Auburn team and TA&M and you've got a bona fide murderers row.  I was curious about A&M so in checking them out, they were 4-8 under new Corch, Mike Sherman, however, they were ripped by injuries last year and return 17 starters, including the QB, all starting RB's and most of the defense.

Then, they have 4 manageable games and top 10 LSU to close it out.  Bottom line, we'll know about the Piggies by mid season.  What say you, Hawg fans?

Does A&M return Mike Goodson?  Did he ever amount to anything?

Arkansas has a horrible schedule.  It really helps that we play them in the middle of it all.

I didn't see Goodson on the depth chart but I did see where that great motivational public speaker, Joe Kines, returns to coach the defense.

The Hawgs had better not run the inside trout against them.

The schedule is bad, but last year was worse.  Hopefully we will improve.  I'm hoping for 8 or 9 wins and a good bowl game to set us up for a big run in '10.  That's probably overly optimistic, but I usually am in the off-season.
Come on up to God's country on the 10th of October and see how we are doing.  We have a pretty decent tailgate, I'll buy you a beverage.
