No.87 - Gene Chizik
(5-19 at Iowa State and overall)- When the new Auburn coach was hired few were too happy at Auburn. Chizik was one of the hottest coaching names in the country 3 years ago. He had led top defenses at Texas and Auburn and was thought of by many the way that Will Muschamp is thought of now. He took a tough job at ISU and failed.
Way to crack the top 100 list Eugene!

Pell, are you talking to me or the guy who made the list? If you're talking to the guy that made the list than I agree with you, I didn't think Chizit should have made the top 100 either.

blah, blah, blah-blah-blah, You top the list of bammer quefe eaters

I saw no evidence that seemed to indicate that the writer of this article was either bammer or quefe eater. I think you guys are being a little hard on him. So he messed up and put Chizit on the list. Let's not crucify the guy.

Perhaps, but apparently 5 for 19 makes a winner.

You fucking "savior" coach was a .500 coach for 4 straight years at Mich St. ISU is a lifetime sub .500 program. Nobody wins there you stupid fuckstick.

At least our "savior" had a MNC and a few SECCGs under his belt as a head coach. That kind of answers the whole "Is it just Michigan St., or is it a bad coach?" question. I also feel that I should inform you that CNS never went .500 for 4 straight years at Michigan St.
1995: 6-5-1
1996: 6-6
1997: 7-5
1998: 6-6
1999: 9-2
He was also 9-2 as a HC at Toledo.
btw, ISU is not a lifetime sub .500 program. For example, the past 9 seasons, 5 of them have been .500 or better. They were 9-3 in 2000. So, in the past 8 seasons, 55% have been .500 or better. They made 5 bowl appearances as well. Also, "The Winning Gene" was responsible for two of the four losing seasons. I'm glad I could clear this up for you.

Some of the other members of thw great Auburn Family cannot accept the facts and truths related to the person currently sitting in the coaches chair.
(are you happy? I didn't call him a fuckhead one single time since I got whined at about the truth.)

Scuse me! .520 his first 4 seasons at MSU. Then 9 wins, and poof, gone like a fart in the wind. And yes, ISU is lifetime sub .500 in football. 476-556-46. That's sub .500 with any math you use, except may bammer math. It's a loser program.

Wow, when you have to go all the way back to 1892 to try and prove a point about your coach.....thats sad. I was trying to use a little more current data, but whatever. Also, when you said "lifetime sub .500", I assumed you meant no coach ever got over a .500 record because saying the program itself is sub .500 since its inception is kind of a weird argument to use, since there are obviously other coaches that have coached there and had success.
-
Earle Bruce 1973-1978
36 wins 32 losses .529 winning percentage.
The last coach to have a winning record when they left Iowa State
Thats a football powerhouse for sure.

Why is it Iowa can seem to have success? Why is it Northern Iowa seems to be successful? Hell, Northern Iowa beat ISU in 2007. You would imagine that both teams are pulling from the same pool of talent, so....?
-
btw, Northern Iowa is the 2nd best program in the state of Iowa.

Sooooo, why is it that those two teams can be successful but ISU cannot? All three teams are in the same state, all of them would presumably draw from the same talent pool, or similar talent pool perhaps.

NO! I FUCKING MEANT WHAT I WROTE YOU STUPID RETARD. I didn't go back that far to prove my point, I went back that far to prove you're a lying fuck bammer. You lied, as bammers usually do to suit their purposes, and thus you were forced to resort to acting like a fucking dumbass piece of shit, and calling me "sad" for correcting your fucking lie and you're now trying to say you didn't understand what I said? Fuck off you stupid piece of shit.
Now I await your spin on "coached there and had success"? Name one recently where you don't have to cherry pick a season or 2 to try to prop him up.
You wan't more current? Their beloved Dan McCarney, the coach Chizik replaced, was 56-85 from 1995-2006. His "great run" that made him so loved came from 2000-2005 where he went 9-3, 7-5, 7-7, 2-10, 7-5, 7-5. Or 39-35 over that period. Bracketed by 4-7 and 4-8 seasons. And, his first three seasons? 3-8, 2-9, 1-10. Since 1921 they've had 19 head coaches, including Rhodes. Only one, Earl Bruce, ended his ISU career with a better than .500 mark at 36-32 from '73 to '78. Johnny Majors went 24-30-1 at ISU from '68-'72 (his first 2 seasons were 3-7, 3-7), and this is the same coach that went undefeated at Pittsburgh and won a NC in 1976, and won 3 SEC titles in the 80s and 90s at UT. So don't be a run of the mill stupid fuck, or in other words a typical bammer, and act like a coache's ISU record in just 2 seasons means much more than jack shit!
Other "more recent" coaches first few seasons at ISU:
Jim Walden: 3-8, 5-6 (first two seasons '87-88) (career at ISU 28-57-3)
Jim Criner: 17-25-2 (4 seasons total ISU career '83-'86)
Donnie Duncan: 18-24-2 (4 seasons total ISU careeer '79-'82)
To head off your next stupid fuck post that you'll have to resort to because you've been caught being a dumb fuck bammer...NO! I'M NOT CLAIMING CHIZIK IS A GREAT COACH, OR EVEN SAYING HIS RECORD AT ISU IS MEANINGLESS...I'M MERELY PUTTING IT IN PERSPECTIVE AND NOT BEING A DUMB FUCK AND CHANTING 5-19, 5-19 AS IF IT COMPLETELY DEFINES HIS ABILITIES. YOU'RE A BAMMER, AND PROBABLY CAN'T UNDERSTAND THAT. YOUR MIND IS SIMPLISTIC, AND YOU SEE ONLY WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE. BUT HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE...COACHES DON'T WIN AT ISU, ESPECIALLY NOT EARLY. SOME PEOPLE WANT TO CLAIM CHIZIK TOOK OVER ISU IN GOOD SHAPE BECAUSE OF THAT "GLORIOUS RUN" OF 4 WINNING SEASONS OUT OF 7 BETWEEN 2000 AND 2006 MCCARNEY HAD...THEY DON'T FIRE COACHES FOR WINNING AND BEING IN GOOD SHAPE. MCCARNEY HAD GONE 2-10, 7-5, 7-5, 4-8 HIS LAST 4 YEARS...RECRUITING RANKINGS HAD BEEN IN THE 40s PRIOR TO THAT, AND FELL THOSE LAST 4 SEASONS FROM THE 40s TO THE 60s.
-

All the more reason to understand just how fucked up a program ISU is.

Exactly! And even he, who later went on to win 4 Big 10 titles at OSU, started out with 3 straight 4 win seasons! A couple of bowl appearances, or a better than .500 record at ISU, and they're naming things in Aimes after you.
-
Sooooo, why is it that those two teams can be successful but ISU cannot? All three teams are in the same state, all of them would presumably draw from the same talent pool, or similar talent pool perhaps.
You're last 2 post clearly indicate you understand that ISU sucks, and always has, and yet you want to use 5-19 at ISU like it's definitive of Chizik?
BTW, Mac Brown was 2-20 in his first 2 seasons at UNC, and didn't break the 8 win ceiling until year 5.

Unfortunately, I don't think he's gathered YET (..and I love what he's doing by the way), that trying to get RWS to understand anything is like trying to pump air into a tire with a hole in it. Useless.

Not going to blow a gasket, I'm as cool as the other side of the pillow, merely stating facts which usually blows a gasket in a bammer's head...and he's already shown how he rolls, by telling lies, and suggesting people post things they didn't really post or didn't say. He's a fucking moron.
-
Hey, I thought this guy was going to be stiff opposition to Saban on the recruiting trail as well....?
I will take our chances on this front. I think the staff is doing A-OK as of April 5th. 2 big commitments yesterday from players with offeres all over the country. I will take it...
Auburn may not win in-state recruiting this year, but it will be a HELL of a lot closer than in years past...
-
Sooooo, why is it that those two teams can be successful but ISU cannot? All three teams are in the same state, all of them would presumably draw from the same talent pool, or similar talent pool perhaps.
The same damn reason why UAB can't be successful. And the talent pool, in the state of Iowa isn't that deep every year, hell, most years the talent pool can't even support one team.
-

Let us not forget too, that No. Iowa isn't even D-1/FBS. They're D-2/FCS. Also, Iowa is in the Big 10, and ISU is in the Big 12. Lots of factors, not to mention the fact they just don't know how to win there, and have set the bar very low. They're a program that thinks a bowl bid equals success. A coach that could go 6-6, 7-5 every year would get a lifetime contract at ISU.

haha.
Mission fucking accomplished.
You can say what you want man. It is still my contention that CGC won't equal to much at AU, and I'm well within my rights to think that. You are entitled to think he will win 10 MNC while he's there if you want, its up to you. Its all speculation on both sides of the argument. Its just going to be a matter of who is right in a few years. I'll stand by my side, and you stand by yours. One of us will be right. I'm thinking along the lines of if he was such a great coach, he could have gotten a better gig than Iowa State. If he was such a great coach, he could have done something with ISU. I suppose its nice to have the whole "nobody succeeds at ISU because its ISU" argument to back you up. Tell me something, who has ever left ISU as a head coach to coach somewhere else where they were successful?
-

Earle Bruce went on to be at OSU, some guy name "Pop" Warner that won over 300 games and if you have read the post, which clearly you didn't Johnny Majors.
-

Other than Majors, obviously.
The argument really goes both ways. You guys can say that its ISU and nobody can win at ISU all day long, and I can say that there really has been no pattern of coaches leaving there and then going on to be a successful head coach somewhere else. Two guys 30+ years ago does not indicate a pattern.
-

Not making an argument, I have never said "nobody can win at ISU all day long". You asked a question and I gave you an answer.

haha.
Laugh all you want, but being as big a dumb fuck as you are isn't funny, it's a shame.
Mission fucking accomplished.
Damn right assuming your mission was to expose yourself further as a major dumbfuck
You can say what you want man. It is still my contention that CGC won't equal to much at AU, and I'm well within my rights to think that.
Did I say he would? And now you support your dumbass opinion with "I'm well within my rights to think that"?
You are entitled to think he will win 10 MNC while he's there if you want, its up to you.
Again fuckstick...please point out in any of my posts where I even remotely hinted at such. Is this how you always debate? You waffle between mistatements of fact and your opinion? Are you fucking serious dude?
Its all speculation on both sides of the argument. Its just going to be a matter of who is right in a few years.

Yes, it's all speculation, all of it. I'm not "backing up" anything, merely stating facts. I am not the one that's used his record at ISU to support any opinion other than to say it means little when you look at ISU's program. Your last question proves that you don't read and comprehend well as I've already stated such, but the answer is, to name 2, Earl Bruce and Johnny Majors.
By the way, that entire post is about as lame a duck and dodge job as I've ever seen, and it smacks of dumbass.
