That all that was needed to get the Republicans back on the road of fiscal responsibility was to be out of the White House I would have supported Al Gore...(well...maybe not but there it is anyway).
As I'd commented on an earlier thread today it looks like the RINOs finally have some backbone and where-with-all to stand up against this travesty of a spending spree called the ONE's Stimulus Package.
The Democrats socialists were saying this past summer that "we can't drill our way out of the energy crisis"; well I say we can't spend our way out of this recession!
I was very happy to see the Republican House leaders standing up against this bill despite The ONE's repeated currying of the favor of the Republicans. And the Democrats socialists are even caving on certain aspects of the bill one of which was funding for a contraception program that Madame Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) herself had loudly defended just a day before. I hope the Republicans keep fighting these socialists loudly and publicly. Hold their fucking feet to the fire and especially those of The ONE himself!

This is exactly why I was saying Obama in the white house may be good in the long run for the republican party. They were getting power-drunk and forgot their basic tenants. Looks like they're coming out of their amnesiatic coma.
On the flip side, this ridiculous new stimulus package, this ultra PC discrimination bill, and his efforts to practically repeal the second amendment...
Hopefully we make it four years before too much damage is done...

I can agree with that Chizad, and I am one of the biggest conservatives you will find for the most part. I don't know how bad it is going to get over the next four years, but I don't expect it to be real good at all.

I hope you're right but without the White House as a second firewall (behind the Senate Republicans' firewall) I think we're in for a world of hurt...S-CHIP and this so-called "Stimulus" Package do not bode well for any of us.
And after seeing how the votes are going down in the Senate with the Republican defections to the Democrat socialist side it seems all-to-clear to be the case.
