I've seen folks talking about this on Rivals and Scout.  What's up with this scissors?  I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation from Bammer Nation.

i think you guys are taking a very extraordinary situation and turning it into something it isn't. so far all i've heard is that current commits were asked to not visit UT, nothing about recruits. not so sure how you could put that tag on kids you are recruiting who are not committed because you have no leverage to tell them not to visit, but whatever. Patrick Patterson is still visiting UT on 01/30, as well as Sam Montgomery. before Lance Thompson left visits to UT were not a problem. Greg King went on 01/16, the day after CLT went to UT. on 10/24 Branden Smith went. Chris Bonds went to UT on 10/24 and commited to UA a month later. so its not like theres some long standing ban on visiting UT or anything, i think that should be perfectly clear. i think what they are trying to avoid is a kid going up there and CLT doing something like "well hey, now that i don't work there anymore i can tell you this this this that and this" and totally throw a kid off with some BS. i don't know if he would actually do that though. i think the world of CLT and appreciate the job he did at Alabama though. i'm sure he will do the same at UT, unfortunately.

when CLT left he promised not to recruit anybody Alabama was recruiting or had a commit from. personally, i don't think this was a bright move. i can respect what he was trying to say, sure. but he had to have known at some point it was going to have to happen. and it didn't take long before he went with Kiffin to talk to Myles. i'm not downing him for it, hell its his job. thats what UT is paying him for. but after that is when the whole "commits shouldn't go to UT" thing came up. no idea whether it had something to do with that. all i know is that before CLT left, UT was ok. even the day after UT was ok. i would bet that UT will be ok with the 2010 recruits as well. i might think differently if this had happened very far away from NSD. i just think the timing of CLT leaving so close to NSD puts everybody in a odd situation. apparently the commits asked not to visit UT did not mind, as they obliged. neither one of the ones interviewed seemed to have an issue with it. thats my opinion on it anyway.

i just laugh my ass off at you aubies how you try to spin everything that coach saban says and does.its perfectly normal for any coach to tell his recruits not to visit other schools.they do it all the time because julio told me so when i was taking his groceries out to his escalade.you assholes just wish you had a coach that knew how to recruit like the almighty saban and i get a kick out of you bitches and its completely common for the media who you aubies are so paranoid about to report this type of thing.and if saban wasnt such an incredibly superior recruiter you guys would always say things like prowler always says and i know hes a much gooder recruiter than your coaches who are always leaving and going to bama because your school stinks like poopie and i know because julio drove through auburn one time and he told me it stunk like poopie and i looked up at him and said mmwwumphffowphmmmmph.

What if a current commit said, "No thanks, Saban.  I get five official visits, and I'm taking them all wherever I want."  What would Saban do?  Why issue a public "warning" to commitments?  Would he pull the kid's scholarship if he went to UT anyway?  Would he make him run more when he got to Alabama?  What should a commitment think Saban will do if they visit UT?

The guy is a fucking tyrant.  This is a HUGE deal because they are 17/18 year old kids who don't know shit from shit.  The mama of a recruit might worry that her kid may lose her opportunity to go to college just for visiting Tennessee.  They may hate Tennessee after the visit, but just because they went there, Saban ruins their chance to play at Alabama.  If I had that fear in the back of my head, I would feel trapped.  I'd feel like I no longer had a chance to check out schools because if I didn't like them, I wouldn't have the chance to go back to the school I first committed to.

i agree with the bolded statement 100%. they are 17/18 year old headcases. how they deal with all this recruiting bullshit, i don't know. hell its bad enough trying to buy a new car dealing with a car salesman. but the statement works both ways. wouldn't you worry about what some guy that was the cog in your recruiting was going to say to these commits if they made their way to UT? and whats this bullshit about feeling trapped? if you have been commited to Alabama for this long and we're 1½ weeks away from NSD, i'm guessing that without any outside interference you're going to Alabama. it was fine to visit UT until CLT started recruiting Myles. thats where this whole mess started. one of our recruits even visited UT the day after CLT left. there are a few recruits that will visit on the 30th. recruits aren't the issue, its the commits. and i would bet that if CLT had in fact kept his word, we wouldn't even be talking about this right now. we're not 8 months away from NSD. if a kid wants to decommit because he feels CNS is being unfair, then i would certainly understand his feelings on that. Prowler has been saying for some time now that Trent Richardson is going to switch to UF or LSU, and i bet he could switch to any school he wants and the school he chose would be fine with that. AJ McCarron shouldn't have a problem either if he has such an issue with it.

And no one else's posts make my head explode - just yours.  Your rants disguised as posts are so full of nitpicking semantics and utter horsesqueeze that they are incomprehensible.  I think I actually WOULD rather read posts from runswithsaban'sdickinmouth than yours.  At least he has his bammer loyalties as an excuse for being a total dipshit.

Outside interference?  Them coaches be puttin' lies in my boys' heads!

Recruits are allowed to visit any college they want to so that they can make a well informed decision about where they want to spend the next four-five years.  It may be ethical for Thompson to stay away from Alabama commitments, but if those kids committed to Alabama or were interested in Alabama because of him, then who's to say that it's unethical for Thompson to speak to them?  What if the recruits actually call Thompson first?

Commitments, nowadays, are nothing more than a quote in an article.  I know Alabama fans don't feel like they're subject to recruits wavering on a commitment, but it happens.  Every school in the country has to keep recruiting their "commitments" as hard as their prospects because a commitment means nothing.  There's nothing binding about it.  Trent Richardson, Johnathan Atchinson, and AJ McWhatever have zero ties to Nick Saban and Alabama right now.  Until February 4th, they don't have to listen to a word Nick Saban says.

Except now they do.  Now, they've been warned.  Don't visit Tennessee.  It doesn't matter that Tennessee may be a better fit for you.  What matters is that they might tell you something that you like.  They might put dem lies in yo head about how their school is better than Alabama.  We can't have that.  So, Saban says, don't visit.  Or else.

you guys keep acting like these kids have been tragically limited or something and this is handicapping them. AJ McCarron has 3 officials left he can use. he has had one to Alabama and is taking one to Miami on 01/30. Trent Richardson has 2 more he can use. he just took one to LSU, and took one to UF before that. hell, according to Prowler he is going to switch to one of those two. again, you are taking an extraordinary situation and turning it into something it isn't. the staff has never worried about kids going up there for officials. if they had gone up there before this CLT mess, as others did, this issue wouldn't even be an issue. for that matter they didn't even have officials scheduled, they had just mentioned that they had thought about going up there. and you're right, there is nothing binding about their commitment. i would imagine that if they don't like it, they will decommit immediately. both of those guys know they could go to pretty much any school with just a phone call. again, we are 1½ weeks away from NSD. Trent Richardson has been a commit since June and AJ since May. do you really think these kids, commiting that early and staying on this close to NSD, are still just so torn about where they want to be? btw, Petey Smith just left his official at UT. said he had a great time, but Alabama is still on top. will probably make his commitment to Alabama in the next few days now that his UT visit is out of the way.

Dude.  Seriously.

You might have some good points but I wouldhn't have any fucking idea.

You see, there's this thing called capitalization. There's this other thing called punctuation. There's this third thing called paragraph breaks.

That looks like one long ass stream of consciousness sentence you wrote up there.  My fucking eyes start to bleed just looking at it, much less trying to decipher it.

I'd occasionally like an alternate opinion, but not if it's presented like that.

Unless you're some kind of homebound guy blowing through a straw to make the computer work, for fuck's sake, break that shit up.

If you are the homebound guy blowing through a straw, well, I'm sorry.
