Auburn defensive lineman Sen'Derrick Marks said early Tuesday morning that he will enter the NFL draft, and announce it at a news conference later in the day.
Marks, a junior, said that he stands 6 foot 2 and recently weighed in at 302 pounds.
"I can play both defensive tackle and defensive end," Marks said. "I want to be a player like Albert Haynesworth in the NFL. I know it's going to take hard work and dedication, but I'm going to bring my hard hat every day. I know that now, it's not just a game. It's a job. And I'm ready for that."
Marks said Tommy Tuberville's departure from Auburn had nothing to do with his decision to leave. Marks said he had good discussions with new coach Gene Chizik, but is simply ready to leave school. Marks had 10½ tackles for loss, including two sacks this season and a forced fumble.
Marks said junior defensive lineman Antonio Coleman might be following him to the NFL. He said he was told that Coleman will hold his own new conference at his high school later in the week.

Damnit...Well...Good Luck to him.

Time for someone new to step up. This could earn attention from DL prospects. Not a huge deal in my opinion. Kind of expected.

That sucks. Good luck to him in the NFL though. I assume Coleman will soon follow...
-
Can't blame him though. Odds are chizik would cost him millions if he stayed on.

I figured in some fucked up way you would blame Chizik for Marks leaving.

From what I understand, anyone with first or second round potential needs to come out this year with changes in salary structure coming year after next.

I think I saw where the commish said that there would be no restructuring n 2010, so the JR. this year wouldn't be affected. Next year however, I think it's a different story...
