Bryan Matthews is reporting that ole Gus has accepted the OC job at Auburn.
No official link yet.
-
Phillip Marshal is now reporting it as official, with an introduction possibly as early as today.
Here are Tulsa's national ranks for those confused about his run first, or throw first mentality....
AT TULSA!
8th rushing offense avg 254 a game
7th passing offense avg 310 a game
2nd total offense 565 a game
2nd scoring offense 47 pts a game
-
Okay, I can go with that. Hard not to be pumped by those numbers. Now, let's finish out the staff and hit the recruiting trail.
-
I just messed up my trousers.
-
Hot damn!! An excellent hire for OC! Should make for a very entertaining offense in the coming years. Perhaps Cotton might reconsider AU now. Anyway, here's the link...

And a wiki one too...

If this is indeed true, I need a place to buy some Auburn gear.
:gig:

fixed that for you.
I love when the OC hire is way bigger than your Head Coach hire. Good pick up for you guys, he should be a good one for the 1-2 years you have him.

Yeah, it sucks having someone coach your team who wins Coach of the Year honors in his 2nd year, brings your program to the #1 team in the country in only 22 games and brings in recruiting classes that Auburn has never seen before. Man, how will we ever make it? I guess we'll just have to deal with winning.

So how do you know Chizik/ Malzahn won't prduce the same thing? You can't know that. One thing we DO know about Satan is that he doesn't like to hang in one spot for long. This was year two..you might get year three out of him, but past that?????????????? I know things are slow here, so you'll banter around for a little bit, but you're trying too hard and frankly I'm just not interested in going back and forth with you.
What will you have to show for all your "winning" if you lose to Utah on Friday? Not much except a regular season where you beat a well documented "down" SEC. Have all the fun you can right now.... that's for sure.

If you're being serious, try.... www.tigerrags.com (http://www.tigerrags.com) or www.auburnsports.com (http://www.auburnsports.com), Ebay might be the cheapest way to go. War Eagle, War Chizik, War Willis, and War MalZohan.
-
Congrats, Aubies. You guys got a very good one.
-
Excellent hire by Chizik! Malzahn would have been my #1 OC choice, but I didn't think we'd be smart enough to go after him. Glad they proved me wrong!

I am. And thanks for the links.
Looking forward to making a 9 hour drive to a Tiger home game next season, if I can get tickets. I'll bet they are harder to come by than Tulsa tickets.

He's gonna get drunk and cheat on his wife?

Yall won't care as long as he wins. :)
Gus is not geared up like that. He's a really good guy. Yall will realize that as yall come to know him.
He will not hurt your program.

The first news that has come out of Auburn in a long time that has made me smile.
-
Big time hire, War Chizik!
-
I was all geared up for the mighty offensive styling of Pat Nix. Oh well...I guess Gus will do.

Holy crap. The Tulsa QB just threw the ball over 65 yards. Auburn hasn't had a QB that could do that in a loong while...
-
Hell of a pick up. Congrats. :vn:
Now, break it off in Houston Nutt's ass on Halloween night.
-
I was laying in bed last night recovering from a bout of the stomach flu Santa brought me. I heard the news and thought I was hallucinating. Awesome hire!
War Damn Malzahn!
