Title: Jason Whitlock: Gill's non-hire not racist
Post by: wesfau2 on December 18, 2008, 02:44:00 PM
I just heard part of Whitlock's interview on Jim Rome.

His article is here:  http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8959530/Gill-needs-to-find-program-that-fits-him (http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8959530/Gill-needs-to-find-program-that-fits-him)

The gist of his message is that Gill didn't "fit" at Auburn, and that's not a race issue.

Great read and quite the eye-opener, especially coming from an African-American author.

Whitlock always blasts the guys that jump up and scream racism at every perceived slight.  He thinks it does more harm than good.

He's an entertaining guest host on the Rome show also.

I once remember Sir Charles saying himself (paraphrasing) that every black in America should hate Jessie and Al.  All they do is make it look like a black can't succeed without a prop or a handout and that is totally not true.  That they are bad about pulling the race card at every turn.  I think it was in the SI issue with him on the cover.  It's been a while so I can't remember.
