Alright, folks.
I just moved into an apartment with my wife, and we've got some hispanics living downstairs (nine of them in a tiny ass two bedroom). It's not so bad, but every now and then, they blast their fucking Laredos music so loud that it shakes the pictures off of our bedroom walls.
If I had a sledge hammer and that get-out-of-hell-free day that Kaos spoke of, I would bash every one of those fucking assholes in the forehead. I'm pretty pissed. Not to divulge into my personal life, but the misses is not in the mood while the fiesta is going on. I seriously want to kill those bastards.
We've been here about a month, and we've complained three times. The office says that they handle it each time, but I don't believe them. They told me the second time I complained that they'll fine them the next time it happens. When I complained the third time, they told me they'll fine them the next time it happens.
This shit goes on until 3am. My wife and I are both teachers, so we're up at 5:30.
Is there anything to do about this? I mean, shit, we have a 12 month lease. I know some of you are lawyers. Our lease specifically states that no loud noises should be made after 10pm. It's 3 grand to buy out of the lease. I'm considering it.

1. I'm young and naive. Mama said not to, so I listened.
2. With all this shit I read about mexican gangs and the fact that there's eight men (1 woman) living down there, I don't feel comfortable starting too much shit with my wife here.

A call to the police can be "anonymous"..... At minimum the responders probably aren't going to go into detail about where the complaint is coming from. Those Mexicans don't understand what they're doing to you and are probably just as worried about the "gangs" you're talking about as you are.
Seriously... just call the sheriff's department.... they'll handle it.

You won't have to pay to get out of the lease.
1 - Make sure you document everything. The times you call, the response you get, what is going on. Write it all down. Make recordings if you can.
2 - Document how many people acutally live in the apartment. Take photos if you can. Chances are there are zoning regulations where you live that restrict the number of people who can live in a residence or at least regulate the number of families that can live in a single abode. Don't know where you live, but check the residency requirements. I'm willing to bet they are violating some laws.
3 - Read the lease carefully. There are probably specified remedies for certain situations and you need to make sure there isn't some direct language based on that. Most leases (if I remember right) will have some kind of language in there that guarantees a semblance of orderly living and puts the onus on the landlord to make sure you have that.
You're going to have to play hardball with the landlords and you've got to have all your documentation in order so you can. When it comes time to play hardball, you need to put everything in writing. You need to do it now anyway. Send them a certified letter documenting the requests you've made regarding the noise, the responses you recieved, etc. Tell the landlords that you're requesting a permanent remedy and that if they are unable to do so, you will have no choice but to take any and all necessary action to achieve satisfaction.

As a lawyer..I defer to Kaos. Good advice.
As for the wife, try earplugs to drown out the noise. My wife is a teacher too and I strongly advise getting as much of the poon-poon early on in your marriage as possible. Teaching sucks the sex drive right out of a woman after a few years.

Seriously - how do you live in a two bedroom apartment at the Madison at Shoal Run with eight guys, one chick, and a 2 year old?

It happens all the time, and they can not kick them out without good cause. This is of course in fear of pending law suit/breaking the lease/etc... Just call the cops, they will take care of it way before the apartment complex does.

Seriously, two things.
1) Read your lease. There should be language in there that says the landlord will provide you with a liveable situation. That includes excessive noise. If you're serious about getting out of there you need to start tailoring your documentation to that part of the lease and how its worded. The certified letter you send them should refer to that specific clause in the lease and how it is being violated by the problems with your neighbors. You don't want to pay the exit price for the lease and if you start attacking from this angle, you won't have to.
2) Check the zoning laws for your area. There's no way that nine people in a two-bedroom apartment fits within those regulations. If that's the case you can make enough noise with the authorities and have at least that part of it resolved.
Calling the cops all the time is not the solution. They will get tired of coming out and start to blame you for being a pest. The Mexican gang below will know you are calling and some gallito will come up and ask if you ever had your shit pushed in.

Yeah. We got a four bedroom, three bath in Alabaster for $175k. Pretty sweet, yeah? Oh, and the backyard is 3/4 of an acre. It's not fenced, but we definitely lucked out after having so much trouble finding a house this summer.

I read somewhere that Alabaster has the highest growth rate of Hispanic population in the country. It said that in 2 years, virtually every other household in Alabaster would have an average of 11 Mexicans living there.
I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Well, my wife is hispanic(really she is), Took me a few years to break her of that music, kepping her busy with cleaning the house and yard work seem to do the trick. Every now and then I catch her looking at the couch thinking how it would look with us in it, in the front yard. :&
