Dear Alabama fans:
Congratulations on beating the worst Auburn team in decades (centuries?) and showing your tremendous class in doing so. It's great when fans of teams from California to Carolina look at your program and go "what a bunch of cocksuckers."
As the only undefeated team in the country, you deserve the national ranking you have. Should you beat Florida -- a task now made easier with Harvin injured -- you should have the right to play for the BCS (Big Crock of Shit) title. Auburn proved in 2004 that any unbeaten SEC team deserves that right. Ironic that the Tigers paved the way for you, but that's how it goes.
But before you separate your shoulder patting yourself on the back and having explosive orgasms over the "backness" of Alabama, it's worth taking a quick look at where the program really is. You say Saban's ahead of schedule in his vaunted "process." But the reality is that the rest of the SEC took a major step backward. In 2007, 06, 05, 04, 03, 02 or pretty much any other regular season, this was a four-loss Bama team at best. But it wasn't an ordinary season. It was, instead, a convergence of factors that led to a phantom Bama resurgence.
Let's take a look:
Clemson - Bama made its first national splash against the Tigers. But Clemson turned out to be a pitiful team that fired its coach midseason. Bama had nothing to do with it, but the Tide benefitted.
Georgia - Arguably the only quality win on Bama's resume. But Georgia is a rollercoaster. Not nearly the team most predicted. Got punked by Florida and pissed on by GTech. No defense. No connection to Bama, but they benefit.
LSU - Worst team in decades. Got annihilated by Georgia. Went 30 points down to TROY. Lost to Arkansas. Second-worst coaching job in the league. Took UA to overtime. Bama had nothing to do with the program falling off, but benefitted.
Tennessee - One of the worst teams in the history of the school. Bama had nothing to do with the program's decline, but benefitted.
Auburn - Worst team in the last 50 years or more. Horrible coaching job, worst in the country. Had absolutely nothing to do with Bama, but the Tide benefitted this season.
Arkansas - New coach, awful defense. Better at the end of the season than at the first. Bama had nothing to do with the state of the program, but the Tide benefitted.
Ole Miss -- New coach. Not THAT much improved over last season, but boosted by good QB play (and like Bama, able to take advantage of a horribly down year in the SEC). A mediocre team and Bama struggled.
MSU - Worst team in the country possibly.
Tulane, Douchebag State and PudPuller Tech -- Three punching bags, none of which would have been competitive against any SEC team other than MSU.
So if you're giving points for wins, Bama gets a half point for Arkansas, a half point for Ole Miss and no points for anything else.
It's incredibly telling that the Alabama = Ole Miss analogy continues to apply. Both the Tide and mediocre Rebels have good seasons at the same time -- not so much because of anything they did but because of temporary hiccups at other programs.
Enjoy it while you can because LSU, Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia won't be down forever. Arkansas will be better. It won't ever be this easy again.
Oh yeah, before I forget? Fuck every last one of you bandwagon bitches. Go to hell Alabama.

I am already tired of hearing AU fans trying to belittle bama's win with us being the worst AU team in 50 years.
We whine about bama's lack of class and then throw out crap like this when we lose.
They are 12-0, get over it. I hope UF tears em a new one, but if they don't I'll pull for bama in the mncg.
-
Nobody's "belittling" the win, whatsoever. They did what they needed to do and did what AU should have done the four or five times the opportunity presented itself over the last decade -- but we didn't.
This IS the worst Auburn team in my lifetime and I'm over 40. I saw the Barfield teams. I saw the Bowden debacle I saw the two Dye teams that failed to deliver. This is the FIRST AU team I've seen that had absolutely zero competitive spirit. I've never seen an AU team this fundamentally inept, particularly on offense.
So yay, yippee! Alabama won. I just wish AU had given them something to compete against.
Yeah, they are 12-0, but the point of my post was that the 12-0 was about 1/8 Bama improvement and 7/8 inexplicable implosions at other programs. It's 11:13 on the Sunday after the game and I've already heard enough "rightful place" bullshit to last me a lifetime. Sorry you think pointing out the obvious is classless. How about pointing out to me where I'm wrong? Unfortunately for you, that isn't possible.
I hope UF rips off their heads and shits down their necks. And if that doesn't happen, I hope whoever they play next prison rapes them. And I'll continue to hope they get prison raped in every game they play for the rest of my life. I'll NEVER pull for them no matter who they're playing. Ever. That would have been the case had we won and it is the case now. You ask me, it's treason to pull for them to win in that situation.
-

Get thee behind me, debil.
More power to you. I'll never pull for those jackasses, but that's how I roll. I'm going through the list of schools that I absolutely detest (7 or 8 strong), and I can't think of one I would pull against if they were to play the tide. I feel the same way 365 days a year, rain or shine. Simply put - I hate them. I absolutely friggin' hate them. Hated them after every one of our wins, hate them just the same today....no more - no less. That being said, .....

This is the worst team I've seen Auburn put on the field and I'm in the over 40 age group.
-
I agree with a lot of it, but this Bama team wouldn't be a four-loss any other year. They would have beaten us last year and probably 2006. They're a solid football team that has only had 3 significant injuries all year, and none of those injuries really matter except maybe Cody in the LSU game.
Bama deserves credit for the Georgia game. Georgia isn't THAT bad. Bama absolutely punked them in the 1st half. 31-0 at halftime against any SEC team is impressive.
I'll say this much - Bama beat our ass, but our ass was already worn thin. Over the past 5 years, this Bama team wouldn't have beaten LSU or Georgia or probably Tennessee. They might've lucked out against us in 06 and 07, but 2004, and 2005 would have run circles around their inexperienced and paper-thin depth chart.
With that said, I think this year's Florida team (when healthy and playing well) is one of the best teams in recent SEC history. If Bama beats them, I'll give all the credit in the world. However, I think it's gonna be bad. Real bad. I'm thinking 35-14 or worse if Harvin somehow plays.

I too hope florida rips off their heads and shits down their necks. Then I hope they take the head and rip an eye out and skull fuck it.
I say I will pull for them in the mncg but I wonder. I pulled for them in 93, but stallings was no mega asshole like saban. One thing for sure if they lose the mncg I will smile a little whether I pulled for them or not.
I'm not going to argue the classless stuff. The treason stuff either. I always pull for the SEC out of conference. Their fans are complete dicks for the most part. I still want to see the SEC win out of conference in bowl games.
-
so, can i go back and say that every time AU beat a shitty Alabama team that it doesn't count? i thought you guys always called bullshit when any of our fans pulled the "probation", "worst period in Alabama history", or "down" cards? we've played a schedule similar to AU's this season, and have done all we can do.....win every game. the schedules are made years in advance for the most part, and some of them are regularly scheduled SEC rotations. bottom line is, its not our fault if the teams we play suck except for maybe the D-II teams, etc that are always crappy. pre-season, would you have ever guessed the SEC would look like it does now? didn't think so. i'm not saying we're world beaters that will beat the crap out of any team in our path, but we have done everything asked of us this season.

So you DO recognize that the SEC is not as it usually is. That was the point being made to you I think. LSU = bad. Auburn = bad. Arkansas = bad. So, that leaves you with quite the path. This bama team couldn't tote the '04 Auburn team's jocks.

well no shit its not as it usually is. Alabama is 1 game away from playing for the MNC, and Ole Miss is #2 in the West. hell, you could stop right there and its already fucked up as a football bat. and at the beginning of the season, you guys would destroy all and seven was coming. who the fuck knew, right? saying this Alabama team couldn't touch the 04 Auburn team is absolutely pointless. unless you have figured out a way to go back in time, that is. as much as you guys ridicule us for clinging to the past, how many more years do you guys have to bitch about "well, in 2004....."? we're going on 4 years now. oh yeah, well the 04 AU team couldn't tote the 92 Alabama team's jock. how stupid is that?
-

Perfect.
Oh, and just so you know a few minor differences in our "clinging to the past", and your "clinging to the past". You just dropped back to 92', and by us, you identify yourself with the same group that clings to a coach that passed away well over 30 years ago. Our clinging mentioned involves the same coaching staff currently in place, and a team that played less than 5 years ago. I wouldn't quite put us in the same boat yet chief.
Hey, at least Bama winning gave you a night off from what would have normally been a wife beating trailer trash extravaganza last night. So, at least you got that goin' for ya.

and wouldn't you know it, some dumbass decided to threaten his wife and daughter at gunpoint not over the game......but a fucking puppy. Jesus Christ on ice skates, what is the world coming to?

So which player was it this time?

Is it proper to capitalize the name of jesus when you are taking it in vein? And since when did He start skating?

That's some funny shit, right there.
But, back on the topic, the two differences between this year's uat team and the '04 AU team is that nearly everyone, that needed to lose, lost for uat to garner one of the top two spots and for the '04 year, the top two spots didn't change. The other difference, is that this year's bammer squad couldn't hold the '04 AU team's cockrings.......BTW, uat 28 UF 17.

thats pretty gay if you ask me. anyways, yeah, some teams that needed to lose did lose and that helped. in week 4 this year, we were #8. in week 4 in 04, AU was #9. in week 5 this year, we were #2. in week 5 in 04, AU was #8. it helped us that we moved to #2 so early in the season. in one week, USC (#1) lost, we beat UGA (#3), and UF (#4) lost. plus the fact that we beat the living shit out of the #3 team helped get us up there. had AU ran into a similar situation in 04, i would have liked to see what would happen. AU didn't attain #3 until week 8 in 04. i think thats what hurt you guys the most.

Don't forget that the SEC was NOT respected in 2004. For some reason, it was a big deal for USC to hang on to a tough win against the inept UCLA Bruins. It was great that the Trojans won against Oregon St by 8. That 3 point obliteration against Stanford was a real notch in their belt.
Auburn was up 31-0 against a top ten Tennessee team AT Tennessee. Auburn obliterated a top ten Georgia team. The media tried as hard as possible to find flaws with our season. The Citadel and a poor first half against our biggest rival gave them what they wanted.
A combination of Auburn getting screwed and Florida destroying the unbeatable Buckeyes in 06 has placed the SEC back in the spot we deserve to be. I'd be interested to see how different AU's '04 season would have been if in happened in '08 or '09. I bet after the Tennessee victory, we would have jumped Oklahoma or at least hit #3.

You guys just tee it up for them with this shit. They won the freaking game, acknowledge, get over it. Geeze, kaos is already making excuses for them winning the seccg, just in case.

I haven't seen anyone "NOT" acknowledge the win. Also Tiger, it IS possible to debate and have a want to keep bammers on their toes. It's that whole "rivalry" thing.
I think most of us are "over it". I think most of us expected it....
I'm also very comfortable with the fact that we can still remind them that we've won 6 of the last 7.

Who said it was Bama's fault? The only point is that before you build monuments to your greatness and start waving your tiny dicks in the air take a moment to put it in perspective. The ride that was expected to be grueling turned out to be not so.

People can do whatever they want and I can comment on it if I want to. I'm just more of a 6 out of 7 you bitches guy as opposed to trying to belittle their win by playing on how much we suck. It just reeks of the way they cried that we only beat them when they were down. It's just so bammerish to me. 6 of 7 speaks for itself. They can blow their fucking horns til next year and they will still only have one win in the last 7 years.

Got it. We actually are in the same page. I'm just not going to call out fellow Auburn folks for dealing how they want to deal. That's all. I learned that the hard way earlier in the season.....and by the way, we DID suck this year. I think it's possible to point out Bammer's vast improvement and actually congratulate it while still reminding them that the other teams in their conference didn't exactly even have what would be considered an "average" year by any means.
I think Kaos put it best by calling out a proper "perspective", even if it was in Kaos' special way of doing so.

I wasn't minimizing the fucking win, they beat the total shit out of my Tigers. They did what I wish Tuberville would have been a big enough asshole to do to them the four or five times we've had the opportunity. But, to be fair, AU didn't put up much of a fight. Bama could have thrown 11 blind three-legged mules out there and I dont' think AU would have scored more than 10. We couldn't move the ball against fucking AIR. I've never seen a more poorly concieved game plan, or such god-awful fundamental failures in execution in my life.
Within four hours after the game I'd heard from probably a dozen son of a bitches. Some I haven't talked to in three or four years. Calling to compare that defense to 1992 (because the fucks always live in the past). Calling to brag about how Bama was "back", rightful place, blah, blah, fucking blah. So put it in perspective.
The final score of that game was less about Bama's defensive mastery and more about AU's complete and utter failure to perform even the most rudimentary offensive functions. I feel sorry for Kodi Burns. It was readily apparent that he hasn't been told anything about the quarterback position. He was just as bad in Game 12 as he was in Game 1. His footwork is atrocious. His mechanics are abysmal.
So yeah, Bama won. The fact that they beat the worst AU team in decades is a FACT, not an excuse. They gave AU exactly what it deserved for sucking the way it has all year.
Maybe somebody will learn something from this shit.

Tuberville should be fired, or the same shit will be repeated next year...with a possible +2 or -2 in the win/loss column.

A month ago I would have disagreed with you. But I see nothing that gives me courage right now. I don't get a sense of competitive fire from him.
Instead of "This unacceptable, we are going to work our ass off to make sure that this doesn't happen again." we get "I didn't turn into a bad coach overnight, look at the last ten years, yeah I think we're gonna figure this thing out, blah, blah coachspeak."
He should be pissed off, not just "meh" about it.

Has tubs earned one more chance? I suppose so.
Would I be upset if the axed him tomorrow? Not really. I would be a bit sad, but not upset with the decision.
He needs to spend some of his millions hiring a top flight consultant to help him with his next oc hire.
