Ohio State (-6.5) v. Texas in the Cotton Bowl
- The teams that like to beat you with speed on offense, but aren’t all that physical, square off in the soon-to-be frozen land of Jerry World.
Notre Dame (-1.5) v. Penn State in the Orange Bowl
- The defense, run-first, shove you in the locker teams get ready for a rock fight down in Miami.
Interesting that we get the similar style opponents in the semis setting up the contrast for the final game.
Who you got in these?

I'll take I Don't Know and the under plus I Don't Care and the over.
It's BASKETBALL season.

I think OSU should boat race UT...but that spread has me questioning myself.

Boat race? WTF does that even mean?
How was the football game, honey? Did Texas win?
Well, I thought we had a good chance, but then Ohio State showed up with some sweet, Yamaha Quad-300 Outboards and blew us out of the water.

I get it. Ohio State blew Tennessee and Oregon off the field. Texas won handily against Clemson, but the crack Tigers were in that game for more than a minute. And we all saw what Arizona State was able to do and make a game out of it with the Horns. Vegas clearly buying the Buckeyes Revenge Tour narrative.

The kidzzzz use it to mean "whoop the absolute fucking shit out of."

I think the lingo has been updated to "BTA" or "Belt to ass."
And I'm rooting for the Irish to win it all.

Damn kids.

I've heard it used many times, and I tried to figure out some relation to said ass whoopin', or even football itself.
Auburn beat Arkansas 48-10. The Hogs got boat raced. They got what? Did both teams have a boat? Was there an actual race? Were Arky players standing on the beach, and tried to run faster than a boat Auburn players were driving parallel to the beach?
What exactly was the person smoking at the time they decided to use the term, "boat raced" to describe a lopsided win?
Whoa, did you see that Nebraska game? They got rock climbed.

No. But I saw Alabama get hacky sacked by Michigan. And it mu-mu-mu-made me happy.

Don't overthink it, Ogre.

I was being a jackass before, but in all truth and honesty? I have absolutely NO interest whatsoever in the "playoffs."
I have literally forgotten it is being played multiple times. I'm routinely confused/surprised when I see/hear something about it on ESPN. It means less than nothing to me.
The season ends the first week of January. New Year's Day. That's the way it was and the way it should be. I don't want to see it now. Maybe - maybe - if Auburn was still alive I'd care some but I'm not even sure about that.
I'm ready to move on.
-

I will pinball wizard you.

Part of that for me is the selection of teams and who/where they played. I have to be honest, Ole Piss would have been much more attractive in the playoffs then...11 other teams...
-
Idk. I like the Ewers kid. So I'll pull for the queers for once in my life...

Classic game last night. Two teams who play great defense, and more of a grind it out style on offense. Both were pounding the rock, and throwing when they needed to. Kind of a throw back game. And that TE for Penn State is going to make a lot of $$$ at the next level. He's the real deal.

Agree. Was an entertaining game. Freeman at Notre Dame is a really good coach getting that bunch to the finals. I don't know if they match up well against Ohio State or Texas, but those guys play hard and have overcome a lot of injuries (next man up mentality).

Jeremiyah Love is really good. That TD run in the 4th where he stretched it out over the goal line, was as good as you'll see. He went through 5-6 guys to get there.

I didnt realize they played last night...

Here's a stat from the game that will raise an eyebrow:
No WR caught a pass for PSU last night. TEs and RBs were the only players recording receptions.

'Twas their Achilles' Heel all season. Still, no shame in making the national semifinals.

That help out alot 'cruiten WRs to PSU. Not sure how they kept it a game. Tells me ND will get destroyed in the Natty game...

The Domers have a really good set of DBs. Granted that Penn State's WR corps isn't covered in glory but they were never open either. ND might make a good game of it against whoever emerges from the Cotton Bowl.

Texas and OSU both have better WRs and DBs. OSU has the #1 defense. So if PSU could come close to winning even w/o WRS, ND will get exposed...
-
It's funny how a couple of weeks has the nation going from Ohio State shouldn't be in the playoffs, and how soon will Ryan Day be fired, to them easily being the favorite to take it all.
I think that top to bottom, they're probably the most talented group left, but it comes down to how you're playing at a particular time. Early in the season, Texas goes to Michigan and plants the flag in that ass. Later, Michigan goes to the Shoe, and puts a foot up that Buckeye ass. OSU is left for dead, then they promptly manhandle Tennessee and Oregon. I honestly think tonight, and the Championship game are going to be some dang good foosballz.
Offensive Rankings:
Texas: 17
Ohio State: 25
Notre Dame: 53
Defensive Rankings:
Ohio State: 1
Notre Dame: 2
Texas: 4

Fwiw, Id rather see Texas/ND play for the natty...
-
Ohio State finished off the Horns.
It’s Notre Dame vs. Ohio State for the title.

I'd rather watch Kaos wrestle Beth Bowins in a baby pool of tomatoes...

Ohio State won. Ho hum. Totally anticlimactic. All the luster is gone from the game and not just because guys get paid. It's because there's not team to the teams anymore. Watching collectives outbid each other for mercenary services at the behest of a television network is just blah.
-
meh.
Turned it off at the half.
-
Turned out to be a somewhat interesting finish. At least ND didn't roll over and play dead when they got down big. Came down to one third down stop they couldn't make late in the game. Had they made the stop, they would have had the ball, down 8 with plenty of time to score.

Sorry, I fell asleep reading this.

I knocked her down and she was out about 11 minutes in. I was about to apply the Kaotic finisher and get the one-two-theee count but the ref turned out to be Nic Cage. He caught me by surprise, dropped a sub-atomic pile driver on me, dragged Mowins arm over me and hammered out the quick count.
He exited the arena to a video montage of his outrageous faces from Bad Lieutenant with a Taylor Swift/Dave Matthew’s duet playing in the background.

Dave Meltzer gives that match 2.5 stars. Decent set up but the ending seemed formulaic - even for the XWA.

I agree. I hope the CEO and writers will give my character a new storyline. I think it's time for a heel turn. Maybe rip off the Kaos mask and reveal Galen Reborn.

Dirt sheets say this would be the best way to get heat back on the character.

Could play the Undertaker/Kane angle. Galen is the brother of Kaos, left to die in a fire at AUFam. But he didn't die. Badly injured, years to recover, and now reborn.... ready to destroy.
