Wish I could get more excited about a changing of the guard around the league, but I just read that Rex Fucking Ryan is interviewing with the Jets.

The fucking retread, inbred NFL coaching community is boooooooooooring.

I find the off-season for the NFL just as fascinating as the season in a lot of ways. Also, college is full of retread coordinator hires and such.

I don't disagree but were Saleh or Mayo (NOT retreads) any better? They were horrid. Rex is at least competent, even if "mid". Even Daboll in NY is horrible .

Daboll getting another year.

Only potential openings left to happen are probably Las Vegas and Dallas if either do it. Could be a couple hot spots among the Wild Card teams but not sure anyone there moves in such a direction.

Well, as long as Woody is calling the shots (via his teen kids) then no one will be successful there.

Hard agree. Such a badly run organization.

I'm waiting for Parcells, Herm, Gruden, Ditka, and Jimmy Johnson to get back in.  And Switzer, too.

Are any of those still alive?

On an NFL related note, hit the ATL yesterday with mini-me for the Falcons/Panthers.  Couldn't ask for a better game, except for the outcome.  44-38 Panthers in OT.

Michael Penis, Jr. looked quite good.  May be the QB of the future.  Only 3 games into his career, but he sure looked the part yesterday.

Dijan Robinson is total bad ass.  Incredible running back with the total package.

But, as I said in our VIP text group, the Falcons' defense it not the total package, it's total ASS!

The Panthers played way better down the stretch once they put Brass Young back under center.  His line wouldn't let anyone near him, and he took full advantage.

In person, the NFL is such a different game.  There's very little difference between the top and bottom teams.  Every team has elite athletes, so it comes down to coaching and maybe having one or two more pieces in place.  Everything is so precise, and QB's are throwing into windows you rarely see in college.

I follow the league, and I'll go and see a game every now and then, but I'll take the college game 8 days a week, and twice on Tuesdays.

Again, what is this N-F-L you speak of…

From what I can gather from friends that still partake, Falcons still suck!

I'm not much of an NFL guy...but that seems like a lot.

Most vacancies in a season?

Nah. Sometimes there's as many as 8-10 coaches and 4-5 GMs whacked in a cycle.

Hasn't he already flopped in like 14 places?

Nope. He was a success at Tennessee (Titans), his only HC spot. (Poor team management ran him out of there.) Before that, he was a DC for the Texans when they were dominating their division under Bill O'Brien. Vrabel is a good "culture" guy and New England will give him all the landing space he needs. They've already solved a big issue by drafting a QB to build around. He never had that in Tennessee.

Pitt is weird.  Their coaches are like Supreme Court justices.  Appointed for life.  I'd be surprised if there was a change.

I think they run that back one more year then "mutually agree" to seek other opportunities. Steelers just don't move fast on a coach, even when they should.

While I would normally agree with you, I think it would benefit Tomlin as much if not more for a change.  I think the guy is a fantastic coach, the just can't seem to get beyond the 11 win season.

Tomlin needs to hire an OC that he will let run the offense and quit being a stubborn mule...

Miss Jackson asked, "What have you done for me lately?"

Fun fact, Tim Tebow is the ONLY QB drafted by the Denver Broncos to win a playoff game.

*Elway was drafted by the Baltimore Colts and traded to the Denver Broncos.

Yes, but I'm looking at it from Tomlin's side as well.  I think the guy deserves better than what the front office has produced.  He's not the only cog in the playoff win drought, I think he would do well with a fresh start.

I think hes also done a lot with very little compared to most of the top teams and how much they spend.

Ben Johnson was a good actor. But I thought he died in 96?

I didn’t know he knew football.

Grades before they've even coached a game is as ridiculous as printing National Champion Recruiting t-shirts.
