Title: RIP - Chette Williams
Post by: The Six on December 16, 2024, 07:28:00 AM
Drowned in an accident on Lake Martin. His son, Chette Jr., was shot and killed in Atlanta in 2019. I worked with his wife for a short time when I first worked at Auburn. The man loved Auburn, loved those kids, and lived a life of service.

Rest in peace.

This is terrible. Chette was one of the good guys. Auburn through and through.

This one was hard one to hear. He fought the good fight against those who are still trying to tear his service down. RIP!

Per AL.COM

Quote
Authorities said Williams and a neighbor had docked at a restaurant in Alexander City but found out it was closed for a private party. As they went to leave in Williams' pontoon boat he fell between the dock and the boat. That was about 5:45 p.m. His body was recovered at 7:19 p.m.

Crazy.  Hard to imagine that happening.

If he fell between the dock and boat, good chance he could have hit his head.  Could be that he just couldn't swim.  Either way, it doesn't matter.  Just tragic.
