Title: Fare thee well...

Thorne ended his career much as he spent the balance of it: with me shaking my head at another dumb fuck interception.

So long, hope insurance sales get you moist.

Did he take your gay lover from you? You sound a bit hurt on a personal level.

I too am glad to be over this season, but I plan on being sane about it.

Good luck to all of our seniors.

It’s now time to let the new blood take over and excel.

Yeah I watched the first half sanely, the first 3 and out and the second as well.
I turned it on once more to take a curious peek just as Thorne was intercepted. Then I took a nap.

Most of the first half felt like Alabama had been gifted our playbook.

I don’t know what the answer is to get back to being a winning program. After 4 years of suckage, it sure is difficult to care as much. Hopefully we will get a sure fire program changer at QB, a couple of hogs up front that can stay on a block for more than .1275 seconds, a new special teams coach, and a bonafide play caller for the offense.

I'm not even moved by Auburn's losing ways other than thinking that football is no longer something to care about and turn attention to basketball where the program is run by grown ups and managed to produce consistent results.

Auburn FootballTM in the modern era is built on splash and flash, but no consistency. No sense of how to replicate the instant-mashed-potatoes successes. It's led by people who want to recreate the Pat Dye 80s without taking into account how much has changed in 40+ years. It's exhausting if you let it. I don't.

I got to see the pinnacle in 2010 and darn close to it in 2013. Those are the "flashes." In between is a lot of mediocrity and less.

Welcome to the middle with the arrow pointing down.

Who knew Gus was available?

I still contend Freeze is a terrible awful horrible head coach. Good recruiter apparently.  Let him do that. Get the players in and let someone competent develop them and put them in a position to win.

Just like Gus was in over his head as HC but excelled at running an offense.  Let him do that. Good move for him to go back to what he’s able to do even if it is at FSU.

Things will be frustrating and maddening as long as Bucky remains at the helm for us. His “we should have coached Jarquez not to throw into coverage” comment illustrated what a fraud he is.  Idiotic play design. No accountability on his part. He’s a phony.  A phony we are stuck with for now.

Saturday was a microcosm of Thorne’s career at AU.  He had actually played pretty well over the last 4 games, easily the most consistent play in his time here.  But Saturday, we had to have a QB that could make a difference, and he couldn’t be that guy.  Meal Row made throws and runs that kept drives alive, and finished drives.  Thorne threw it to the wrong team, overthrew wide open receivers, and inexplicably threw a pass way out of bounds while going for it on 4th  down, deep in Bama territory. Thankfully, that era is over.

Saturday was also a microcosm of Freeze’s time on the Planez.  He continued with a game plan that gave a very limited QB little chance to be successful.  I’m just a no-coaching-experience, peon fan, typing from my grandmother’s basement, but I will say it for the 2,483rd time.  You HAVE to get the ball out of Thorne’s hand immediately to be successful.  And yet, there he was, running for his life, play after play after play.  And every time he took a snap and did not plant to throw, I said, “The play is over.” For some strange reason, our coach never grasped that concept.

Freeze will get another year to get this unsucked. He has to keep this signing class pretty much in-tact.  He needs to hit the portal hard for a QB and hogs on both sides of the ball. I feel like the talent will be there next year, but I’m not too sure he doesn’t need to go back to doing the CEO thing, and let someone else handle the offense.  I have to admit, I lost a good bit of faith in his ability there.  But, as I’ve said, if he doesn’t get it done, they’ll go find someone else to give it a try.

You sure seem to like the word “microcosm”. Did you learn it last yesterday?

I've been sitting in wait for the chance to pounce, and use it often in casual conversation.

Freeze has already announced his motivational phrase for the 2025 season and t shirts are being prepped for print. Here it is boys... "WE SUCK!!"

It's going to be plastered in orange and blue all over the world. I've even heard tale that it may be added to "The Creed"

Is it related to someone close to the ebb n flow vibes?
