Post by: wesfau2 on November 25, 2024, 08:04:57 PM
UConn already bounced by Memphis into the loser's bracket.

Good guys tip in about an hour...

Holy balls.

Deep deficit overcome...

Players gutting it out in obvious pain...

Dramatic end-game scenario.

Imma write a screenplay.

A ton of differences from last year to this one. First, John-Eye’s all around game is as good as anyone in the country.  Scoring inside, occasional outside dagger, rebounding and defense.  Two enthusiastic thumbs up.  Four stars.

You have CBM, God love his little over-aggressive heart, looking like he wants to go next level and impress some NBA scouts.  But, the biggest change to me is the fact that we have so many guys that can carry this team for a while.  Miles Kelly, Tahaad Machmud Abdul Pettibone, Denver Basketball Jones. His free throws were money.  We’ll be in every game because of defense, and the fact that there’s no way all those guys will be off for a whole game.  Somebody will step up and get us going.

I say that, and we’ll shoot 17% from the field and UNC will hang 97 on us.

And BTW, North Carolina had to stage a huge comeback too, to barely get by Dayton. 92-90.

Feels like they're a one-man show without Bacot this year.  Don't know much about the team beyond RJ Davis.

I would love to see the paid snipers be a little more efficient. Denver Kelly did not hit their mark enough. Get a few more out of those two and we break some backs early.

Im just glad CBM was able to go back out after bumping knees and showing the team how to turn up the energy after sleep walking through the entire first half.

A double-double in the first half.

Chaney Johnson is going to be big.

This team is going to win A LOT of games.

Oh and also...

FUCK the CBM narrative that he's dangerous and has to be reined in early.  The broadcast hacks were saying something about that being in their notes.

He's getting the Nick Fairley treatment with preemptive calls.

I don't agree with preemptive calls for any reason.  But, to be fair, he's earned the rep.  It started way before Yale in the tourney.

Eh...I just don't see it.  He's less of a wreckingball than KD was.

He's definitely got the rep.  He had 3 techs while at San Diego State, then got rung up for 6 last season at Auburn.  He was constantly at the center of dust ups during the season, and already has a Flagrant 1 this year.

CBM is high spirited.
Hunter Dickinson kicked an opponent in frustration but he's not a dirty player.
KD would lower his shoulder on a drive through the paint about half the time.
Not trying to hurt anyone but if you want to draw a charge, try this on for size.
It's a contact sport.

Looking back over the tourney, this format really screws the top teams if they play early.

Looking back, I think ISU beats everyone else in the field and stood a good chance against us in a final game. Yet, they end up 5th.

At least they got in a couple more games I guess.
