Title: Caught the Radio Broadcast...
Post by: jmar on November 02, 2024, 04:55:58 PM
...the tail end anyway.

Auburn must have become boo eligible.

Jason Campbell was attempting to soften the loss and Andy Burcham kept repeating immediately following that Vanderbilt has become bowl eligible with the tone of a guy that just lost 5K.

I don't like losing but you could clearly detect that the man was absolutely disgusted with the way this game played out, moreso than normal I might add.

It was a great defensive performance. They got hung out to dry by a bad offensive scheme and poor offensive play.

Rinse. Repeat.

I continue to wait to see an Auburn offense against a real team consistently execute without trepidation. I thought that corner was turned last week, but apparently not.

I knew as soon as I saw PT miss Deal wide open, we were done.
PT cannot perform under any pressure. Like play at home pressure. Or basically any pressure. He then missed a wide open standing still JH right in the middle of the field. Then later on, had Coleman open and under threw him.
I didn’t see anything PT did that Hank could not have done just as well.
Hugh has really put the fanbase off by continuing to trot PT out there!

Anyway we can request Freeze’s phone records? Just asking.

While in the subject of Freeze…anybody else noticing how well SMU and South Carolina are playing? Especially how quickly both programs have been turned around within the last couple of years. I will even add Ole Miss into the conversation. Just thinking out loud is all.

Rhett's doing a good job at SMU.

As much as I think he's a clown, Beamer the younger has done some good work in Columbia.

Ole Miss? I draw a line there. Kiffin has filled that fan base with such a sense of false superiority based on nothing. And they love to point and laugh at Auburn. Once we get out of our stupid era, I hope we exact all manner of blood and flesh from them. But as a program, what are they? They beat the teams they should (not always though) and shrink up in tough games. Georgia will skull drag them back to The Stone Age this weekend.

Yep. PT is and has been my main problem. Not on a personal level. He is just not worthy of being QB at Auburn, or in this offense. An offense that ticks on quick decision-making and depends on improvisation when a play breaks down.

I don’t understand the logic behind repetitively pushing a 5th year Senior out there so stubbornly when he has not shown he is any better than option #2, a RS Freshman. At least the RS Freshman has potential to develop. We really have nothing to lose at this point, and everything to gain going into 2025.

Give me the gunslinger that makes quick decisions, even if sometimes they are the incorrect ones.

Hugh Freeze has very quickly lost favor. It is rightly deserved. Tired of Auburn Football being in the lower levels of hell. Especially when we had to endure the shit that we did last year, the year before, the year before, and the year before that.

This is where I don’t understand the mislabeling. The only INT that was a bad decision as the one that he threw directly to the defender.
The first one was a bit late on the timing causing a tip that would most times drop to the ground. But it was the right decision. And the last one was just lead a bit much and the defender didn’t really catch it. It rolled over when it hit the ground. Those two are fixable. Both were the right decisions, just not executed as well as should have been.
PT seems to never see an open guy once he feels a tiny bit of pressure.
Give me Hank and let him grow.

my guess Hank won't be in the picture in 2025 ...back up to a back up, at most.

no need to build on something.  Hank had the chance.  he failed. he even got a moniker ...the baby goat.  lolz.

let's hope we hang on to the qb1 recruit and freeze beams down a qb from the portal.

I'm for Hank and will continue to be until Freeze plucks a sho nuff transfer that can operate day one. And that would have to be someone like Cam Newton (once in a lifetime talent) or ditching the current offense for Nick Marshall-
AUTOPILOT

What makes any of us think we are going to be able to get THAT guy?

I have no confidence in White or Deuce when Freeze has refused to work with Hank Brown. He might not be the answer but until you give us a proven option
HE IS.

I expect Hank to yeet hisself out of The Plainz as soon as the season ends via the portal transfunctory device.

As for White or Deuce, I can only imagine they've been told next year will be "different" by CHF. Pretty sure Nix is going to bounce for a HC job (probably So. Miss). So we'll get yet another OC in year three that will or won't have influence on things depending on the moment.

Freeze was a horrific choice. Absolutely the wrong man at the wrong time.  His pedigree is fraudulent.  Scarbinsky pointed out the painful truth in a sickening post yesterday.  Freeze has never been a great coach.

What we have is a stupid former Mississippi State administrator enamored of the numbing mediocrity to which State could never aspire that he saw at Ole Miss.  And HAY! This here guy beat Nick Saban TWICE!!  That's gotta be worth something.  It's not.

Everything is screwed up right now.  The MSU administrator is giving us MSU results. Freeze's stupidity needs to persist until the State clowns are gone at least.  If not, that softshell moron will probably hire Sylvester Croom.

I've seen nothing that gives me any hope whatsoever that Freeze has the wherewithal to fix the issues that plague this team.  He is, to me, clearly in over his head. Clock management issues, baffling gameplans, horrendous roster management, zero player development (seriously, name one single offensive player who's improved in the past two years), constant confusion, nothing but excuses and no idea or plan on how to change anything for the better.  His "plan" is to get talent -- NOT to coach what is there, NOT to get the best out of the players we have, NOT to put them in the best position to win.  No, just talent, talent alone.  That. Is. Not. Going. To. Work. In. This. New. Reality.  It was stupid when he started with it and it's stupid now.

I hope I'm wrong, but I expect a furious migration when the portal opens. A migration that will rival a random Daphne pond when the geese come south.  Massive honking and lots of splattering turds as they flee with fury.

Maybe if I saw some improvement, some consistency, some small scintilla of evidence that Freeze had the confidence and ability to lead it's going to take... maybe.... But he's worse than I ever dreamed (and I LOATHED the hire).

Hairplug aside?  He's BY FAR the worst Auburn coach of my lifetime  and I go back to Shug, brother.  But we can't get rid of him because Fruity McBulldog would just make an even worse hire (if that's possible).
