I hate when AU sucks for a lot of reasons.
One that's become obvious is that this place turns into a graveyard. It's depressed. Nobody contributes. It withers.
People are afraid to talk politics because somebody might blowhard and panties might get wadded. Nobody watches movies I guess. All conversation evaporates as AU waves at mediocrity as it plummets to the bottom of the barrel.
It's just the dead zone in here and it's because AU stinks at the football. Sad.

I'm sick and tired of trying to keep this place going all by myself. Providing the in depth reporting on the latest topics, while being incredibly funny, witty and good looking all at the same time, is a tough, thankless job.
I'll keep pushing forward, though.

The world edges closer towards another major World War,
As we have the displeasure of repeatedly witnessing our team owning the losing score.
The Auburn we love is in a hole so very deep,
That the fan base has become increasingly apathetic, as if we were asleep.
Brighter days are ahead for country & team, yes we hope that is true,
So that Auburn and the US of A returns to glory, making us even prouder to support the school we love and the red, white, and blue…

lack of board participation goes beyond football struggles.
movies, yeah we all enjoy them but 7/19ths of the movies you review no one will ever watch. and if they did they'll just disagree with you. no offense, i read 18/19ths of them.
politics ...honestly wes was the only one that didn't align with any of us. you can only abuse him so many times.
some of us got on with life. women, sex and kids. some died.
wiregrass probably ran off half a dozen or so with his antics. plus you lose him you lose a dozen alias.

I admit that my contribution is limited but the Auburn answer is simple and the proof is evident in the recent history of grabbing transfers like Cam and Nick, win one play for another. We didn't have the core recruiting (namely offensive line) that would sustain those appearances in the aftermath. We have a staff that will keep building. Auburn will hold on to the best of them because it's Auburn.
Been watching a series called The Pacific. It's not Band of Brothers. The series follows a group of Marines (mortar unit) and it's very combat driven in the most base of elements (no French countryside) and far more savage than we have seen in any depiction of that theater of WWII. Don't watch expecting to have your spirits lifted. It ain't happening!
As for politics I think Trump wins by at least 5 points overall if we could only have an honest count of votes.
My siblings are having health problems and I'm hit or miss here mostly as a distraction from life's more personal challenges.

Same here. Very interested in that one this spooky season. I wanted to see Joker 2 but have been told it's awful.

Honestly, I don't know if we will win another game all season. Why HF didn't go get a qb in the transfer portal that could have given him a year or two so that he could develop a young qb is beyond me.

I think we see some more of Hank Brown simply because this is a pretty rough league on a body.
Walker White's bio indicates he too lacks accuracy and isn't ready.

I think it’s because the starting QB for next year is currently playing for another team. And Thorne gives us a better chance to win this year.

We are two losses away from missing a bowl. Missouri, Vandy, Kentucky, A&M and Alabama remain on the schedule. With Thorne's poor decison-making (even if he isn't throwing double-digit picks) what's the best case for that gauntlet? Upper ceiling? 2-3. More likely 1-4 and that might be a stretch. At times there were 6-7 freshmen/sophomores on the field at any given time. Getting their knocks in.

BTW? The Vandy team that beat Alabama yesterday and looks like a legitimately decent team (Georgia State notwithstanding) was portal built. It CAN happen overnight. It doesn't take three or four years for a beaver to build a half-legitimate dam.

Misleading as the most important player on Vandy’s team came with his head coach and OC. But you knew that. You are just spouting shit. The percentages of teams that are successful using 19 new players is very very low.

Think Thorne's feet make him more of a threat that Brown. But at the end of the day, not sure it matters. Hank won't be playing next year.

Thorne is not extending plays, not even with mostly veteran receivers at HIS choosing.
Thorne can't run around like Bo Nix and is looking more and more like JJ when we ran out of choices.
We haven't run out of choices.
Start Hank with 15 scripted plays to open the game as teams normally do nowadays.
You can bring Thorne in at anytime just like a sixth man in basketball if you must or like a long reliever if your starter just isn't feeling it.
Doesn't have to be all or nothing.
If anything it shows that you are flexible, trying to get the most from your talent instead of being reactionary.

Yeah Hank could transfer to another program. Good luck to him. And Thorne could end up being a GA at UGA. More power to him.

Deigo Pavia is a throwback.
In today's NFL terms he's a sidearming, bad bodied, elusive teapot that will only beat you while you continue trying to figure out how he's getting it done.
He's the type of guy that is good at everything he does.
Jerry Kill is riding with him.
Pavia is like a gun for hire with a manager/publicist that chronicles his exploits.
We have supremely better athletes but we don't have Pavia.

We don't even NEED a Pavia. We just need a guy that can run the RPO and make a few things happen each game without crapping the bed.

Thorne hasn't shown an ability to escape trouble or extend a play to have a voice outside of the locker room.
If anything, he seems to be running toward trouble. We cannot get to the edges on SEC defenses. Maybe we get a wide screen now and again but nothing our opponents aren't willing to concede. We aren't running a full house backfield with an H/ fullback or pulling guards as with Malzahn.
So why not Hank? Okay he isn't able to make the nuanced throws inside a five yard drop site. He isn't a runner but he does exhibit a degree of pocket awareness. He isn't timid or fearful.
We haven't seen enough of a sample size to write Brown off. Maybe he doesn't look off receivers as he should but he shows enough poise and leadership to at least have another opportunity to correct that flaw.
We need to show improvement.

Geriner, from a few here and others I have quizzed about him is thought to be more of a positional placeholder than an actual contender at this level.

Saban killed message board banter for me. When Bama sucked, or when Auburn was really good it was fun to get on the message boards and go back and forth comparing wins or losses or making arguments for why Bama deserved whatever bowl. I'm not being a dick when I say this but when you win literally almost every single game you are supposed to win there isn't much to talk about. And then he did it for 17 damn years. Sure, there were some what if games, some games that could have resulted in more championships but damn. Isn't 6 enough for anyone in any lifetime?
Bama football turned into a bore fest.
On the bright side, after getting bullied by Vandy and then doing everything possible to lose to South Carolina at home, it appears the days of steam rolling everyone is absolutely over with.

If I'm being honest, that leached a lot of the fun out of it for me, too. It became a chore to watch. Gene Simmons (and others) say the harder you work, the luckier you are. For the past however long, it seemed like UA got almost every smidgen of luck there was. On the rare occasions when they didn't, it was a time to celebrate. I know he worked at it. I know he drove people to the point of madness. That's what it took, I guess. I also know he broke or at least edged over the line of every rule that existed. Houses, cars, jobs, cash... and he did it with absolute immunity. Nobody - other than a dedicated group of AU fans - was willing to call him on it.
